Prologue: Welcome to Despair (pt 2)

Junko was the first one to speak a moment after the announcement.

"What. The. Hell was that just now?" she said.

"Well then, if you'll excuse me," Byakuya said.

And so, Byakuya began to make his way to the gym.

"H-Hey!" Junko shouted to him, causing me to have to cover my ears. "What, you're gonna take off just like that?!"

"Ohh yeah, now I get it!" Hiro said. "This whole thing was just to get us all pumped for the entrance ceremony! Man, thank god it was all a joke. I'd be totally freaked if this was real! Alright, guess I'll head out, too. Wonder what they got planned for us next..."

And with that, Hiro left the main hall and also made his way to the gym.

"Damn, I was totally looking forward to that nap, too," Leon said, clearly upset. "Why'd they have to go and kill the mood?"

Leon then left to go to the gym.

"W-Wait for me!" Chihiro called. "I wanna go with you!"

Chihiro ran after Leon, trying to catch up with him.

"That is that, then," Celeste said, her sinister smile re-appearing on her face again. "I will see you all there."

So, Celeste left to go to the gym as well.

"N-Not that anyone cares, but I-I'm gonna go, too..." Toko said.

Everyone took off for the gym, but I was frozen where I stood. That uneasy feeling I'd had before...I couldn't get it out of my mind. And it looked like I wasn't the only one...Mondo, Taka, Sayaka, Kyoko, Sakura, Hifumi, and Junko were still here.

"This...this doesn't seem right," Sayaka said, looking very nervous.

"Yeah, that announcement was totally weird," Junko said.

"Maybe, but just staying put doesn't mean we'll be safe," Kyoko said. "Besides, aren't you guys just a little bit curious to find out what's going on around here?"

"If we do not move forward, we learn nothing," Sakura said. "The only choice we have is to push ahead.

I...I guess she's right, I thought, hugging Flower tightly. But still...I'm kinda - no, really nervous. We don't have a choice. We have to go.

"They said to go to the gym, right?" I asked.

And so, we all went to the gym, even though none of us wanted to at all. Standing outside the official gym enterance, we all began to hesitate.

"God, I had no idea this Hope's Peak Academy place was gonna be such a pain in my balls," Mondo said. "It really ain't that much different from the time I spent in juvie. Hell, this place is even worse!"

"And why isn't there anyone here?" Sayaka added. "Walking through the halls, I didn't see a single person..."

"Isn't that, like, seriously not good?" Junko asked.

"Th-They're just trying to spook us!" Taka said, clearly trying to convince himself. "They'll take those metal plates down later, I'm sure of it..."

"All we can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst," Sakura said. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
