"you got this," maggie held my hands, smiling as we sat in the car outside of the building. "you are amazing and it will be alright,"

i nodded. "okay," i took a hug breath and opened the door to exit the car.

i was wearing a beautiful floral milkmaid dress with a square neck and with the dress reaching right below my knees.

to go with the outfit, i wore some white heeled strap sandals and with the help of maggie, it tied around my ankle perfectly.

clutching the strap of my tote bag, i pulled out my mirror and made sure my two short braids looked perfect alongside the two baby strands of hair in front.

to add to my outfit, i had a little daisy in the corner of my head inside of my braid.

"come on," maggie smiled at me, "let's get you sorted."

"will you stay with me the whole time?" i asked, "or is that not allowed?"

"i'm sure sure, sweetheart. i'll go check for you," maggie smiled then held the door open for me.

"thank you," i whispered then walked in.

maggie looked around the lobby typed area, then went to the front desk and began to ask.

this place was huge. we weren't going to find where i was situated myself.

i watched as the women told maggie the directions and which floor and area i had to be at then maggie came back with two tags just to say i was a guest and had access to places other shouldn't have.

"she said to go up the elevators to the second floor then down the hall and then on the left," maggie said and i nodded and followed her.

i was following maggie like a lost puppy.

perhaps i should've worn a hat, it may have covered my eyes a bit.

we were early, the convention starts in 15 minutes and i didn't have much setting up to do anyways.

when i reached my table, i circled the side and sat down. smiling, i took the name tag of mine in hand and then placed it back down.

a line was set up in front of my table then i took out everything i brought.

some stickers and some pens for me to use to sign the books. and some other crafts i made.

i then took out some little cups and other things that i made a few days ago on the pottery wheel and i smiled when i saw the cute little animals i drew on it.

"these look amazing, dear," maggie grinned, "i have some books here for sale if anyone wants to buy them. i'll put some here and the book fair downstairs. the convention should start soon,"

i nodded, "okay, will you be back?"

"of course! i will be as quick as possible," she smiled then looked to see who was next to me. she leaned down to whisper in my ear, "i don't know them," she grumbled which made me giggle.

"i'll be okay," i told her, "you can go."

she smiled, kissing my cheek. "you look beautiful today," she told me again then circled the desk, "have fun!" she waves at me and i nodded and waited till someone showed up to my little table.

♣︎

no one showed up.

i couldn't help but frown.

the tables around me were occupied and i bet the ones around the floors are too.

but my line was empty.
