Witch Hunt [Part Five]

So, this is a bit of a wild chapter. I had difficulty writing this one. I'm not always great at extended action scenes, but please enjoy!

"No, no! No, wait, wait!" Douxie called and rushed forward with Archie at his side, panic stricken at the chaos only just unfolding.
"We don't have to figh--?!"

Merlin had only waved his hand, but both Douxie and Archie were sent flying backward.

I'd been frozen only for mere moments, but I snapped out of it when I realized what was happening.
"Douxie...!" My legs quickly moved to brace myself to catch him, but it only served to knock both of us back and into the tree. At least I managed to soften his impact.

Both he and Archie groaned, but I still managed to hear Merlin shout over the noise.

"Defend the king at all costs!" He raised his staff and cast offensive spells to intercept Morgana, who quickly turned toward him with a snarl.

I shook myself from my daze, letting out a groan of my own, but I tried to push myself up to help Douxie and Archie.
"That was low." I managed to get out, reaching up to the sore spot on the back of my head.

"I hate when he does that." Douxie strained, but he accepted my help up. Archie shook himself off, getting back to his paws.
"We have to stop the fight...!"

I looked up and saw what Douxie was watching. Morgana looked like an angry, cornered animal. He was right. If we didn't, this could turn into a magical blood bath.

"Come on...!" I tried to get to my feet, but it was a wobbly start. Douxie helped by grabbing my arm to steady me before leading us back to the group.

We found ourselves standing by Claire who looked far more conflicted than I would have thought about fighting Morgana. We stopped just as the sorceress unleashed a golden whip of magic, striking at the ground like a warning.

"Stop! We found another way!" She called almost desperately just before Douxie jumped in.

"We can do this peacefully!" He pleaded, looking up at his former fellow apprentice.

"The time for peace ended long ago." She spat, almost as though she was looking down on Douxie.

Claire took a step forward, hoping she might be able to appeal to the sorceress.
"Morgana, he's not the enemy." She stressed, brown eyes searching for a hint of hope.

Morgana quickly rounded on Claire, clutching her staff tightly in her grasp.
"I trusted you!" She said, almost like it pained her while flying herself up and into the air.
"Now you side with my brother over your own kind? You're just one of them. You're all against me, but I am more powerful than you know." Her voice became dangerously low before she raised her hand in the air, golden magic swirling to life.
"Ortum obumbratio!"

It was utter chaos. Morgana had created these shadow figures with magic, and there were plenty to go around, which meant we were each occupied. I'd been separated from Douxie and Archie, lost in the mix of the battle.

I was mainly dodging the attacks. The one solace seemed to be the fact these clones couldn't use magic, so it was just physical hits. Though, I'd be lying if I said it hadn't hit me a few times already.
I'd tried breaking a branch off of a tree to use as a weapon, but it was too strong to break and just turned me into the first human pinata.
