Dick's POV

Tim and I are out on patrol without Bruce's permission. Tim was believing those places he discovered or found would be able to help us locate Y/n.

We went through everywhere and nothing. We stopped at the Clocktower.

Nothing.

The Wayne Enterprises.

Nothing.

Now, it is the obvious place. It was where he met Bruce.

Crime Alley.

Ti- Robin and I landed on the rooftop and is only a few minutes away from Crime Alley.

"Nightwing!" I heard Robin call out as he rushed towards the alley and landed on the ground safely.

"Robin! Wait up!"

I jumped down as I landed next to him.

"Alright. Let's look around." Robin spoke as he looks through the alley with his flashlight.

I look around at alley realizing how much Jason had to go through.

I let out a sigh of realization what he had to go through as a kid.

"Well, I guess Jason just wants us to leave him and Y/n alone." Robin replied, making me snap out of my train of thought.

"One thing I could say about Jason is he's very sneaky. Especially when it comes to getting what he wants." I said, looking around the alley.

Robin looks around in the alley and asked.

"What's was Y/n's relationship like with Jason?"

I let out a soft chuckle.

"Well, they were lovers before. She loves him and he loves her. Jason has done a lot for her. I just don't know why he would do this." I said, looking down at the ground.

"We'll find her. I just can't believe we're going against Batman's word."

Suddenly, we hear someone land from behind us, making Robin jump and I closed my eyes and bit my lip.

'Damnmit.'

I placed my hand on my forehead.

"You had to say his name." I sigh as I opened my eyes and looked at Robin.

"Robin, Nightwing." We heard Batman call us.

"Crap."

We turned towards Batman and walked towards him.

"Hey, Bats." I smiled, trying to act cool.

"I thought I told you both to stay out of this. I can handle it all from here with Red Hood!" Batman said, giving us a glare.

"Actually...you said once you find Y/n no one leaves the house till you find him. You didn't say anything about us staying while she's still out there." I replied, crossing my arms.

Batman gave me one of his infamous bat glares and hummed.

"Look, we want to hel-"

"No! Both of you need to go back! Now!"

Robin and I look at Batman, stunned. I let out a sigh.

"Alright. Fine. We'll go back."

"What?!" Robin shouted, looking at me confused. "Are you serious?"

"We'll let you do this, Batman." I said, I closed my eyes for a moment. "And we'll do this on our own."

I threw a smoke bomb to the ground and threw a grenade at Batman. Batman jumps back and covers himself with his cape as it explodes near him and the smoke begins covering the air. I grabbed Robin and we grappled away. We jumped to the rooftop and made a run for it.

"Did you seriously just do that?!" Robin responded, running at the same pace as I am.

"Look, we ain't got time for this! Let's go to my place and we'll go from there! We're on our own now till we find her!" I replied as Robin and we continue making a run for it.

I'm sorry, Bruce, but I think I know where we're heading to now.

Bruce's POV

As I saw Robin and Nightwing running off like little jack rabbits, I just shake my head at the thought of them now doing it on their own.

I look around at Crime Alley, thinking of him.

Jason Todd.

I get a flashback at the time when I first met Jason when he was a young. The flashback of him taking the wheels off the batmobile so he can sell them to make his own money to survive out here in their dreadful city we call home.

"Well,"

I look up and I see Red Hood standing there with his arms crossed in the fire escape.

"seems like you've lost your touch. That child you took in and raise him as 'one of your own', whatever happen to that poor kid. I'm genuine curious, Batman."

"You have H/n. Where is she?" I snapped at him as my fist clenched.

"She's safe. For now. As long as I'm still around she's safe with me."

I stood there, waiting for him to make a move but he spoke.

"You know, Batman, that child was not the first one you've lost. I mean, you lost your parents and friends along the way but the kid...that boy died on the cause that you should've taken care of so long ago even before the first Robin came along. The Joker is still living till this day! You allowed the killer of that boy to live! No justice was served for the him!"

I look down at the ground for a moment thinking to myself. I know if the Joker were to die by my hands, who knows if I were to control my anger, especially to the other criminals I've encountered.

I cannot kill the Joker. Deep down, I wish the Joker was gone from this world and damned in hell, but I will not be the one to send him there. Not even from my family either.

I wish for him to stay deep down, underground and rot for good.

"I will deal with The Joker. I'll take care of that son of a bitch. Everyone you ever loved, will still remain safe but in my way. We'll stay in touch, Bruce."

My eyes widened as Red Hood grapples away.

I may let him get away, but I have to get to where he is heading to next.

Arkham Asylum.
