Part Five

Over the following week, you spent more time with Jonathan than you had anticipated and, whilst you realised that he had changed, you were cautious.

Your father was cautious too and somewhat concerned about your welfare since Jonathan had hurt you quite a bit in 2019 and then, again, throughout 2020 when he contacted you once more.

'We aren't going to go through this again Y/N, are we?' you father asked over brunch as he watched you text away with a smile before taking a seat at the kitchen table.

You all had the day off and, since it was also your 25th birthday, you celebrated with your family over some nice food, coffee and some champagne.

'What do you mean dad?' you asked without looking up at your father, head buried into your phone.

'He is talking about you and Jonathan sweetheart. You've been spending a lot of your free time with him over the past week and now you are glued to your phone' your mother explained and you simply smiled.

'Oh, I am not texting with Jonathan. It's Cillian' you said before you carried on typing your reply.

'Cillian? What does he want?' your father wondered.

'He sent me a message saying happy birthday' you giggled like a smitten young girl.

'And that makes you laugh like this?' your father asked surprised, observing your facial expressions.

'Well, he also sent me a meme, but it's so lame that it's kind of hilarious at the same time' you explained, adoring Cillian's weird and unique sense of humour.

'Yeah, he's got a strange sense of humour, doesn't he?' your father observed and just when you nodded your phone went off again.

This morning, you received one text message after another and, since you couldn't meet with anyone other than members of the cast and crew due to the strengthened Covid regulations on set, your younger sister organised an intimate birthday party with some of them.

It was only your parents, your 22-year-old sister and you at your parent's mansion in Hollywood and you were keen to get out of there, even if it meant just going for a few drinks at the small bar next to the studio.

The bar was conveniently located beneath the apartment facilities where all of the cast and crew were staying for the next six weeks. The facilities belonged to the studio and, after your time there was up, filming was to take place at a remote location in New Mexico with less restrictions in place.

Despite the social distancing requirements, at least twenty members of the cast and crew had RSVPd to your birthday party and, amongst them, were Cillian, Jonathan and Jack which your sister believed to be quite interesting.

Your sister was aware of what was going on between you and Jonathan and had warned you several times over to be careful. She told you that, getting involved with him again, was a mistake and you knew that yourself. Yet, it played on your mind even though it wasn't him you really wanted.

Your sister also knew that Jack was interested in you but you clearly weren't interested in him and, over the past week, matters had escalated between him and Jonathan, creating a lot of tension between them on set.

And then there was Cillian who your sister knew you were texting with a lot again throughout the past week and she simply assumed that you had an eye on him despite of the large age gap between you. You told her that this wasn't true but the fact that you were sharing a room with her in Santa Fe and mentioned his name in your sleep on two occasions certainly didn't help your case and she warned you about developing any feelings for him also.
