Later that day, at around 7 o'clock at night, Cillian arrived at your house for dinner and you were rather nervous to see him.
"Hey" was all you managed to say as one of your housekeepers let him inside.
"Hey" he responded, speaking softly, before your parents came walking through the hallway and greeted him too.
"Come in Cillian. Do you want a beer?" your father asked politely but your mother immediately tapped on his shoulder.
"Chris, shouldn't you let them talk first? Perhaps, they could go upstairs for ten minutes or so and then we can all meet in the dining room" she suggested and your father realised that your mother was right. You both desperately needed to talk.
"Of course" he said quietly in response to his loving wife before looking over towards you and, since this situation was rather awkward, you asked Cillian whether he wanted to see your room.
Cillian nodded and silently followed you, acting like a young school boy on the way to the principal's office.
"So, this is your room, huh?" Cillian chuckled after he followed you to a somewhat dated bedroom. He felt like a teenager again, or like a young boy who was visiting his girlfriend for the first time after school.
"Yes, this used to be my room. My parents never really updated it after I left home, which was about seven years ago. This also is where I am staying now until I am moving to London" you explained and Cillian couldn't help but chuckle.
"I can see that" he said while taking a look around, seeing all of your high school science awards on the shelving and a few other interesting childhood gadgets scattered in between.
But then, there was silence again. An awkward kind of silence.
"You should have talked to me Y/N. We could have fixed this" Cillian eventually said, reaching for your hands which is when you realised that he wasn't angry with you.
"I know Cillian. I am sorry. I just thought that, with Charlie and Max being in your life, this would have been terrible on them and both of our careers were on the line. My father's movie was on the line too. I was stuck. I didn't know what to do" you stammered before you broke out in tears and, the truth was, you had been overwhelmed by Cara's demands and threats.
"It's alright Y/N" Cillian said in a comforting kind of way before taking you into his arms, holding you close and allowing your tears to stain his t-shirt.
"Do you still love me?" you asked with a broken voice through the flood of tears which left your eyes.
"Of course, I still love you. Just don't break up with me again over things like this" Cillian said with a quiet chuckle before looking at you with a smile.
"I didn't realise that we were even officially together?" you said, trying to laugh through your tears.
"We need to change that, don't you think?" Cillian then suggested and you knew that this was probably a terrible idea until filming of the movie had been wrapped up. It was the very issue you wanted to avoid for the past six weeks, namely someone finding out about the two of you.
"So, you want me to officially be your girlfriend?" you asked.
"Yeah" Cillian said bluntly and you immediately raised your eyebrows.
"What does my father say about this?" you wondered.
"I am fine with it provided that the studio's publicist can prepare a statement for when the press gets wind of it. I know Cillian hates social media and generally refuses to engage in things like this, but he agreed if this meant that I would give my approval. It was my only condition" your father then said, putting his head through the door to your room, clearly having listened into your conversation.
