I peeked an eye open and saw a brilliant light filtering through my glass and falling over my bed and floor. I looked at my clock and beside the brightly displayed time of eight forty one, was the letters SAT, for Saturday. I sighed happily and fell back on my pillow.

*bzzt*

My attention jerked towards my phone. I picked it up and blinked when I saw Erza's name.

From Erza:

I heard Natsu asked you to the masquerade! I'm coming to pick you up at 10, we are going shopping. (⌒▽⌒)

I set my phone aside and sit up. I couldn't refuse Erza, and I needed a dress anyway. I pushed myself from my comfy bed and took a shower after which I pulled on a pink t-shirt and a pair of green jean shorts.

I made my way to the kitchen where I tossed together a quick breakfast. I glanced at the time and the clock read approximately nine forty five.

Erza would be here at any moment- "Lucy~!" Her voice rang out from my door right as the thought crossed my mind. I got up and opened the door and saw a smiling Erza, adorned in a grey tank top and a blue skirt. Her red hair was tied up in a ponytail and she looked positively ecstatic.

"Ready to go?!" She was practically jumping up and down. I laughed at her enthusiasm and grabbed my purse and keys.

"Yup," I sigh and close the door. I follow her to her car and get in the passenger seat. As we drive Erza and I talk about school and then the dance.

"Where will it be?" I ask her.

She smiles and says, "The old castle ruins. The theme is 'Lost Royalty', so basically princess and princes and such." She sounded proud of her idea, and quite frankly it sounded amazing. Then we pulled up to a dress shop and Erza pulled me inside.

"Now the fun begins," and she gets her usual aura of happiness as we sift through the multitude of dresses, testing the material, color and length. Finally Erza spots a black one that she could not turn away. It was simple, wrap around the arms and floor length.

I keep searching for something that catches my eye, and I eventually do. I take it from the rack and look at it, smiling softly. It was purple, and it had unattached cuffs for my arms. It was also floor length and loose, the back was tied up by lace, similar to fancy ballet shoes. I showed it to Erza and she approved.

Then we choose masks, Erza taking a silver one and myself taking a white one with purple swirls beside the eyes. We paid for our dresses and masks and put them in the car, deciding to then go get lunch. After choosing a place we headed inside and sat down.

Erza immediately smirked and asked, "So, are you planning on finally confessing?"

My eyes jerk her way, surprised. "Uh..er, well..." I stutter and swallow. "I-I don't know..."

She chuckles and shakes her head amused. "Lucy, you should just tell him. No use hiding it, it's obvious enough already," she twirls her finger.

"It is?! Oh god, he might have picked up on it!" I lay my head in my hands and I hear Erza laughing softly again.

"Lucy, he might not have noticed. He is Natsu." Erza reminded me. I nod and remove my hands from my face and soon we order our food and resume talk about the dance. We finish and then Erza drives me home. I take my dress in and hang it up before I collapse on the couch. That's when I feel my phone vibrate again.

From Natsu:

Hey Luce! I need to watch Wendy tonight, but we don't want to stay home because remodeling is being done here...mind if we come over? σ(^_^;)

I quickly respond telling him it was alright, and then I rush around making sure everything looks alright. I note the later time and decide to start making dinner. I tie my hair back in a ponytail and put water on to boil and grab pasta and sauce down for one of my favorite meals: spaghetti.

I tap my chin thinking about what else to have, and I decide on meatballs. I make sure I have onions and meat and seasoning for them before I start preparing them. As I put them in the oven to cook I put the pasta in the water and the sauce in a pan next to the pasta.

The doorbell rings and I call out, "It's open!" And I hear the familiar voices of Natsu and Wendy.

"Lucy!" Wendy's excited voice makes me turn from the stove and I catch her in a hug.

"Hi Wen," I smile at the bluenette, and then I glance at Natsu. He grins and then flops down on the couch sounding tired.

"Long day?" I ask him as Wendy gets a stool to help me.

"Very long, and tiring. I worked on the house with the guys and we got next to nothing done," he groans. I walk over to him and lean over him on the back of the couch.

"Seems you got it rough," I laugh softly.

"Are you mocking me?" Natsu asks darkly.

"Maybe I am," I say cockily as I walk back towards the kitchen.

"Ah, Luce you're gonna regret that..." He threatens but doesn't move. I shake my head and finish dinner with Wendy's assistance. Wendy sets the table as I place the food down.

"Natsu, dinner is ready. Come on," I call him. He gets up and walks in and takes the seat he always does at the head of the table. Wendy and I sit on either side of him and we all fill our plates and eat, talking about anything that comes to mind.

"Hey Lucy?" Wendy calls for me softly.

"Yeah Wen?" I respond looking up from my plate.

"Uh...well...Natsu said you where going to a ball with him and I was wondering if you had your dress..." She murmurs sheepishly.

I laugh and nod, "Yeah I do."

Her eyes light up like the stars in the night sky. "Can I see it?!" She pleads excitedly.

"Yes, after dinner you can see it, alright?" I agree and she settles down and chatters on about school. Something about this whole situation made me want this sort of life...everyday...
