Loki awoke, feeling sore from last night. Thor was already gone. Loki yawned and stretched, sliding out of bed. He slipped on a pair of black jeans, and his black Converse.
Loki walked into the dining hall for breakfast. Everyone was already there, sitting at the table, Jotuns on one side, Asgardians on the other. All eyes turned on Loki as he plopped onto a seat and snagged some bacon.
"Son? The peace treaty?" Laufey said, snacking on some roasted peppered chicken.
"After breakfast." Loki said. A half hour later, after a very awkwardly silent breakfast, the two parties met in the war council room.
"So, this is what I say." Loki began. "We do an exchange. Each side gets something."
"What do they get?" Odin asked.
"Something of equal value." Loki said. "You all get me. My family gets a Thor."
Odin opened his mouth, but Loki wasn't finished. "But! Mr. One Eye over here says that his son is the most valuable thing in the world. Now, I just don't think that's fair to take it from him. So....shall we say....The Casket?"
Odin's expression was priceless. He knew he was beat. A brilliant check mate it was. If Odin refused to give the Casket, Thor and the rest of Asgard would hate him. If he gave the Casket, Jotunheim would be protected from any threats and Asgard would have no leverage.
"What if I refuse to these offers?" Odin said. "Not give anything at all."
"Then we resume war, and from what I can tell, YOU WILL GET DEMOLOSHED." Loki said. All was going great until Angraboda piped up.
"WHAT IN HEL'S NAME MAKES YOU THINK THAT WE WILL LET YOU BE TAKEN BY THOSE ASGARDIANS!?!?! THERE IS NO WAY THAT WE ARE TRADING YOU FOR A STUPID RELIC!"
Loki rolled his eyes. "Sister dear, this is a good bargain."
"TOO BAD!" Angraboda yelled. Bylestyr nodded.
"She's right Loki. We aren't giving you up." He said. "Right Dad?"
"Correct. Sorry Loki, you tried. But no." Laufey said.
"No. No. No. Nononononono! Come on, it won't be so bad! I will be fine. Dad, I worked so hard making sure this plan would work perfectly! Think of all the lives that will be saved." Loki protested.
Laufey tried to speak, but Odin interfered. "Is it possible for us to have a different bargaining tool?"
Loki spun around so quickly, you would think that his neck had broken off. "Sure! How about you give us back our casket in exchange for interplanetary peace?"
"You know quite well that won't work", Odin said.
"Then, when you find a better idea, you can talk to me. But now, shut up." Loki said rudely.
"Loki. We are not going to give you up." Angraboda said firmly.
"What about the lives? Huh? All the people who won't die? There are other families out there who are being torn apart because of this war? Are we really so special that our family deserves more?" Loki asked, pouring every bit of emphasis and persuasion into his voice.
"Loki..." Bylestyr whispered. Angraboda and Laufey looked to the ground in shame.
"Please. Let me do this for my people." Loki said, pleading.
Angraboda had tears in her eyes. Bylestyr was blinking away the liquid welling up in his eyes and Laufey was struggling to keep a grip on things. "Loki, I beg of you. Don't do this. We can think of another way."
"I have to." Loki said. Angraboda ran over and hugged her little brother. Bylestyr and Laufey followed quickly, and soon there was pile of Jotuns on the floor.
"My baby brother, being all heroic." Angraboda said, tears freely spilling down her cheeks. Then, Loki's shirt slipped off one shoulder, revealing the bruises from last nights epidemic. "What is this?!?"
Loki gulped. "Erm.... Thor did that. But technically I kinda deserved it. I cuffed him to the bed and sexually tormented him."
Bylestyr face palmed. "Please tell me you didn't."
"I did and I'm proud." Loki said happily.
"You little jackass. I would spit on you right now if I could, you bastard. You and your ugly little-" Thor began.
"Ya didn't say that last night when you had your cock up my ass." Loki smirked in satisfaction.
"ENOUGH!" Odin barked. He motioned to a servant. "You! Go fetch the Casket."
Loki smiled. The was the great victory of the Jotuns. After the agreed terms of the negotiation were clear, both kings stood and shook hands. The Jotuns retreated to the Bifrost, where they said one last teary goodbye to their kin. And with a flash of light, Loki's family was gone.
