"Forget it." I walked back into the gathering area; Xavier looked stressed. I was about to hear it from him, too.

"Are you trying to get us killed?" He hissed.

"He blew up on me!"

"Because of you! All you had to do was agree and nod along!"

"Why? What would that accomplish? He asked if I remembered him, and I said no."

"He also said that you would hurt his feelings!"

"Exactly, so I told him the truth, because if I didn't, it would hurt his feelings!" He covered his face with his hands and groaned. I walked off and took some appetizers, striking conversation with a woman.

"At this rate, I will never find a husband." What am I supposed to say to that? How can people strike a good conversation with phrases like that!

"I see... will I'll be married soon." She looked at me with a hateful glare and stormed off. What did I do? I thought we were talking about husbands? So I told her about my soon to be husband. God, I hope I don't have to actually marry Xavier. This agonizing cycle continued, people talked to me. I said some things they would storm off. No matter what approach I tried! One woman talked about her grandmother dying. She said she didn't know what to do and nearly sobbed. So I told her that by the looks of it, she'll probably die soon. She ran off sobbing? She told me everything about her, so I gave her my thoughts on it. I assumed she wanted to know what I considered her condition! Every person sobbed or stormed off, Bertram told me I had to leave. So me and Xavier rode back in silence. I couldn't help reflecting on the frivolous conversations.

Every one said the same phrase to me over and over. "What's wrong with you!" Xavier was mad, accusing me of sabotaging everything. I was too exhausted to argue with him, I didn't feel like arguing. I kept thinking back on the conversations, and I still have no clue what I said that was wrong? Have I been away from humans too long to function like them? But Xavier doesn't have a problem, it's only me? Days passed, and Xavier was still furious with me. I was instructed to stay in the house because of my "behavior". The once lavish life became dull, I was a prisoner once again. A letter was dropped, Xavier took it before Finn noticed. "Dear Lara, it is with my sincerest condolences that I give you this message. Your father has passed and died from an awful cold. Please arrange the funeral arrangements as soon as you can. His body will be delivered to you, so you can hold his funeral in his hometown. Love your brother Konrad Carsten." Xavier balled the letter in his fist.

"DAMMNIT!" I jolted.

"I guess this is bad?" His eyes glowed.

"Bad? Were in deep shit!"

"Oh..." I said quietly.

"You don't get it, do you?" He laughed.

"Forgive me, but as you remember, I was held prisoner for some time. So, I am a bit out of touch with customs and what not!"

"The count has died, Lara's father! He gives her krone! With him dead, we won't be able to afford any of this!"

"What about his will?" He roars out in laughter. "What's so funny?"

"His will! His will and properties go to his son! That conniving bastard wrote us the letter personally to mock us!"

"But Lara is his daughter?"

"Exactly, only the sons inherit the money and properties." WHAT!

"She must have some money stored in a bank."

"She has nothing... trust me."

"I'm going today, I need to be sure."

"Wait! I have to go with you." Xavier instructed me on how the bank works. How he has to be my husband. We walked up to the bank clerk. She takes a dismissive look at us.
