"Teasing"

Chapter 1

Set after the fight with Hendrickson, specifically after ban and Meliodas's personal fighting festival

The air was thick with tension, Meliodas riding on ban's back being unable to walk on his own feet.

Most everyone was silently watching as the captain got carried into the tavern, however, Meliodas and his buddy were chattering away about the fight, acting as if it didn't bother them a bit.

"Yeah! And did you see the look on everyone's faces when they thought that I'd actually try to kill You?! Ha! Hilarious" the fox sin laughed carrying his captain up the staircase in the tavern,

"Yeah, but even if you had ended up wanting to you couldn't kill me" Meliodas spoke rasping slightly do to his wounds.

Ban just laughed,

Even as ban carried his captain into the room the very upset princess still trailed behind,

Once ban had sat Meliodas down in the bed he laughed at a joke he made and left.

Now alone with his princess Meliodas chuckled.

"Sir Meliodas, are you alright? Those wounds look like they hurt a lot, Do you want me to heal them now or do you want to clean them first?" The princess spoke sincerely concerned for the one she loved,

"Well now that you mentioned it, now that we're alone I could think of a few things to distract me from said pain" Meliodas teased wiggling his eyebrows suggestively,

Meliodas watched as she blushed a deep crimson.

"S-sir Meliodas....... I'm being serious..." She stuttered looking down,

Why does he never take me seriously? Am I that much of a joke to him? Elizabeth thought as she bit back the urge to tear up,

"Hey Elizabeth? Could you come here for a sec? Its really important" Meliodas spoke with a serious face, laughing internally at his plan to tease her.

At his sudden seriousness, Elizabeth rushed right to his side.

"What's the matter? Is something hurting more? Do you want me to go get ban? Or maybe you want me to go to the capital and ge-" she was cut off as Meliodas grabbed a handful of her breast causing her to let out a yelp, stumbling back a bit with a new blush.

"Ah, that's better" he spoke with a grin that was wiped off his face as he stared at her wide eyed and a growing heart rate,

She was crying, and not the usual cry of when she was too happy or when somebody got hurt, she was silent as she hung her head with tears streaming down her face.

Panic rose in his chest at the sight that he'd never seen before, what happened? Is she okay? Did I do something? No, I don't think I did, but she teared up right as I groped her, did that cause it? No she's never minded it before, so that couldn't be it. So what's wrong? Meliodas thought as he painfully sat up, much to his body's protest.

"Elizabeth? Are you okay?" Meliodas spoke his voice shaking slightly,

His hearts all but stopped when he went to stand and she stepped back, wrapping her arms around herself.

"E-elizabeth?" Meliodas said with a crack in his voice.

She didn't respond at first, but after a moment of uncomfortable silence, she lifted her head to look at him.

"I think if you have the strength to make jokes then you have the strength to go without me healing you." She spoke with an edge to her voice before turning and leaving Meliodas.

Even as Meliodas stared and thought about what had just happened, he couldn't find what he had done wrong, it was just a little teasing.

As night set in Meliodas realized he had been sitting there staring at the door in which his love had disappeared through.

Rubbing his eyes to rid them of the dryness, only to cringe at the immense amount of pain.

How did I manage to forget that I'm still wounded? Oh could it have something to do with the fact that I'm worried just how much did I fuck up with Elizabeth?

Oh well, so what if this hurts? I need to get my ass downstairs and see if I can make whatever I did to mess up with Elizabeth be forgotten. Forcing his demon power to close his wounds was rather painful and didn't actually HEAL the wounds, it just closed them, that's all. But it was well worth it, because he knew that the sins would Not let him go freely if they saw he was still covered in wounds.

As he stood he felt dizzy from blood loss. After a moment he disappeared into the shared bathroom to clean up. After all he knew in order to convince anyone he was all better and healed, he needed to NOT be covered in his own blood.

However when he managed to get downstairs he was met with absolute silence.

The tavern was still closed for some reason and everyone was staring at him as if waiting for him to grow an extra head or something, it kinda irritated him.

"What?" He snapped irritated.

"N-nothing!" They are shouted snapping their head away,

Meliodas knew this was a lie, but there was nothing that could be done. He also saw that it was now raining outside.

He looked around for a moment and instantly felt confused.

Where is Elizabeth? She wouldn't go out in the rain would she?

"Guys? Where'd Elizabeth go?" He asked curiously, he saw them all flinch when he said her name, which concerned him.

"Well?" He snapped, slowly becoming more and more irritated.

"Umm..... She left" hawk mumbled,

"Did she say when she'd be back?" Meliodas asked confused as to why she would leave in the rain,

"N-no" king responded. all the sins seem a little spooked, I wonder why.

Is she mad at me? I don't even know why she's mad and now I really won't get to find out.

"Oh........ And why are you guys so nervous?" Meliodas asked curiously,

"Because we thought you might be mad" ban spoke truthfully,

"Mad? She is her own person. She can come and go when wants. I don't see any reason why I would be mad" Meliodas said covering up for the fact that yes, he wasn't mad, but he was upset.
