"You know, this is not how I expected my morning to go." Yuto closed the book in his hands slowly. The story of a woman who falls in love with a monster.

He was going to start training with Saru today, but was instead called to watch Kunou out of the blue. The reason being that Kunou asked for him to keep her company. He complied, naturally, without any real reason to say no.

It ended with him helping her finish her schoolwork and then they read some books together. Mostly story books about other countries' folk tales. Some even about heroic tales.

The little fox let out a 'Hmph' and finished organizing her books and papers. "Don't act like that wasn't fun."

"I never said it wasn't. There were some surprisingly fun parts from the story of Hou Yi." One of the other stories they read.

That being said, not all the books were about folk tales and legends. Some of her books were related to foreign policy. She was already learning such things at her age, she was quite studious.

After she finished up her work, they ended up reading some folk tales she wanted to read. Her eyes particularly lit up when Yuto read the stories about knights and princesses. It seemed enough to satiate her endless childish curiosity.

"You said you liked books. I thought I would pamper your interests for a change."

"Why, how considerate of you Oujo-sama." He teased, and not soon after felt a light patter on his head. A small chuckle nearly escaped him as he tried to hold it in.

She was homeschooled most of her life due to her status. Because of that, she was at a level higher than most others her age. Most likely around middle school level.

Yuto was homeschooled for years as well, though the reason differed, so he could understand her boredom. Books were also his way to escape it, if only for a while.

It wasn't until his condition was stabilized that he was sent back to school. It was his Aunt Sakura who made the decision, feeling it would be better for him to be around others his age instead of being cooped up all day.

It helped that puppet-sensei made a mystic code that helped with his circuits. He was just old enough for high school then. Even so, it took some time for Tiger to catch him up to his own class. Rin wasn't exactly a teacher.

"So, do you have any plans now? I doubt you would have asked me to come here if you were still on lockdown."

She paused for a moment and her mouth formed a straight line. When she spoke up, there was a certain sadness behind it. "I heard you were gonna start training with Sarutomi."

He tilted his head. "Yes. Does it have to do with that?"

She nodded. "That means you're gonna be busy, I wanted to talk more with you before you were." She looked towards the ground when she said that.

"Hm. How considerate of you." Yuto nodded in some understanding. He was like this whenever his father was home, always wanting to sneak in as much time as possible.

Being on the other end, he could understand why his father hesitated answering so often. It was so damn hard thinking of what to say!

...It just clicked what he said. He looked back to Kunou who was still looking at the ground. Thinking quickly, he spoke up again.

"Well, that doesn't mean we won't be able to hang out. Maybe once a week, at the most." She shot up with a glint in her eye.

Looks like I was able to say the right thing after all. Go me!
