"I wonder if we're in trouble?" Yuto asked himself. He, along with Adachi and Shuta, were called to the meeting room early in the morning. Since his current residence was within the castle, he was the first one to arrive. Naturally, Tamamo followed.
"I doubt it. Though it must be important if all of us were called up." Adachi said casually. His garb was worn more loosely as the left side hung loosely at his side, revealing a tight black suit underneath that seemed customized, or custom made. The main body was accented with gold and dark green, paired with a symbol etched into his sleeve.
The spear wielder sent his kouhai a look and sighed. "It's probably a mission, but for all of us to be called...it must be dangerous. I should get you a battlesuit before we depart."
Tamamo's ears perked up as her face flushed slightly. "Oh, I like the idea of seeing you in a tight body suit." The fox spoke from behind him. A big smile plastered on her face as she no doubt had something inappropriate on her mind.
"Wouldn't it take time to get a proper fit?"
His response was a shake of the head. "No. These are more of a one size fits all kinda suit. There are female suits as well." He looked at Tamamo and gave her a nod.
She smiled. "Then maybe I should get one of my own."
"Where is Shuta, anyway?" Yuto asked, wanting to change the subject. He tried his best to ignore the happy smile Tamamo had on her face. As well as the nod she did when he looked away.
"Getting dressed. I thought it would be best to have him ready for immediate departure. Though, I suppose now we need to make a stop regardless." Adachi said with a casual smile.
After a few minutes of waiting, the oni of the group fianlly arrived, now wearing a similar garb to Adachi, though he lacked the sleeves. He looked at Yuto's fox girlfriend confused. "Why are you here? You aren't part of Saru's students." His tone carried a tone of annoyance that would normally make the fox servant sass him back. However, her mind was elsewhere.
"I wanted to see what kind of trouble Yuto would get himself into this time. I'd rather be there to tend to him than him come home bruised like I know he will." Her words made Yuto look away sheepishly.
The doors to the meeting room opened and Sekkai stood in the doorway. He lightly nodded to the students in greeting. "Lady Yasaka will be seeing you now."
Inside the room was Sarutomi and Yasaka, the former of the two sat much more annoyed than any of her students had seen her. Though only the oni had an idea why. An important day was coming for the two, this could put a hamper on things.
Yasaka smiled at their entrance, though tilted her head at Tamamo. "You were not called here Tamamo."
"Um, with all due respect, Yasaka-sama, I would prefer that she is here." Yuto spoke his thoughts. Tamamo tried her best to hide her smile knowing her master wants her to stay with him.
Sarutomi waved off Yasaka's concern. "It's fine. An extra body could be useful." Yasaka nodded and motioned for everyone to sit down.
Once everyone was seated, she began to speak again. "Normally, Sarutomi would be the one to brief you all. However, this can be considered your first big mission." She motioned to the table, which was littered by maps of different towns and were used to mark a bigger map of western Japan. Two of the maps were crossed out, and seemed to be along a path that eventually led to Kyoto.
"In the last week, two villages have been attacked by a group of rogue yokai. However, in the latest attack, they were repelled by one of Sarutomi's students, you will be meeting her there. According to the report from her, among the group is a collection of oni. This group has been causing problems for a while now, though this is the first time that they have actually attacked a village." At the mention of Oni, Shuta leaned forward in his seat, now suddenly more interested.
