CHAPTER 5

Amelia looked down on the cars passing by below from the window of the RC2 buidling. She shook her head and massaged her temple dahil naalala na naman niya ang ginawa ng asawa niya.

She thought he stopped but he was at it again. Kung hindi niya pa napapansin na lahat ng savings nito at pati ang joint account nila ay laging nababawasan ng pera. Siguradong hindi niya pa malalaman na may pinagbibigyan ito ng perang pinaghirapan nila. Her woman instinct started kicking in and she had him followed. Doon niya nalaman that he was housing a woman. Apparently the same woman he was busy with a few months back.

She gritted her teeth.

A knock on the door interrupted Amelia's train of thought. Napatingin siya sa pinto.

"Come in."

"Mam?" Bridgette came in. Hawak hawak nito ang clip paper ng mga schedules niya. "Mr. Del Rio cancelled again."

"He cancelled again?" Amelia inquired. Napakunot siya ng noo niya.

Tumango si Bridgette. "But he wants to re-schedule the meeting by next week."

"Oh. Alright."

Bridgette nodded her head bago ito lumabas sa office niya.

Amelia sat on her swivel chair and crossed her legs.

This time. She sent Christian away para mapilitan itong iwan ang kerida nito. But everytime she thinks about it ay sumisikip ang dibdib niya. She gave him chance time and time again pero ito ang ginaganti nito sa kanya.

Nanggigil na dinurog niya ang dyaryo sa kamay niya. She was quick enough to tell the reporters not to spread the news. Binayaran niya ang mga ito para wag ng ilathala sa newspaper ang relasyon ng asawa niya sa nag iisang anak ni Rodrigo Del Rio.

Amelia looked herself once in the mirror. Nakasuot siya ng white body hugging dress na binagayan niya ng red 2 inch stellito heels.

She lifted her chin up and lifted her left eyebrows.

"Mam. Ready na po kayo?"

Bridgette knocked on the door and immediately smiled when she saw her. "You look so regal, mam."

"Thanks Bridge." Amelia smiled and walked towards the door. Tama ang secretary niya. She looked so regal. That's what she wants para ma-intimidate sa kanya si Samantha Del Rio.

Sumunod sa kanya si Bridgette.

Today they are meeting Rodrigo Del Rio and his daughter. Pinaghandaan niya talaga ang araw na ito para harap harapan niyang makita ang reaction ng dalaga. Just thinking about the illicit affair between Samantha Del Rio and her own husband is making her blood boil.

Nag iinit ang batok niya but she closed her fist tightly para mapigilan ang sarili niyang mag wala. She needs to composed herself dahil kalahati pa din ng shares ng kumpanya niya ay galing sa matandang Del Rio. Plus, she's also not fond of unnecessary violence if she can help it.

"This way. Mam."

Bridgette lead her to the conference room. Amelia took a deep breath bago niya pihitin ang seradura ng pinto. There in the opposite chair of the table ay nakaupo ang matandang Del Rio kasama ang anak nitong dalaga.

Samantha Del Rio looks respectable sa suot suot nitong white long sleeve blouse at grey slack pants. Ibang iba sa itsura nito noong una niyang nakita sa parking lot.

The older man smiled at her at pumunta ito sa kabila para ipaghila siya ng upuan Though, kapansin pansin sa mukha ng matanda na nanghihina ito at medyo maputla.

Amelia smiled at him but when she focused her eyes on the younger Del Rio. She had her poker face on. Nakita niya ang pag larawan ng inis sa mukha nito. But didn't say anything. Inalalayan nito ang Dad nito na maupo.

"So. Mr. Del Rio. What is it that you want in my company to request this meeting?"

Hindi na nag paligoy ligoy pa si Amelia. Her blood is boiling just by looking at the younger Del Rio. Gustong gusto niya ng umalis sa harap ng dalawa kesa makipag plastikan sa anak ng matanda na obvious namang ayaw din sa kanya.

She knows that Sam knew about her. Alam nitong may asawa si Christian yet continued the relationship with him. Tinitingnan pa nga nito ang pictures niya noon.

The old man chuckled. Tumingin ito sa anak nito then back at her. "You are straightforward Mrs. Montenegro. I'll hand you that."

After a while of nothing from her sumeryoso din ang mukha nito.

"Well... I am dying and I want my daughter to be trained under your company."

Amelia winced from the information. She doesn't want to know that but she felt sorry for the old man.

Napadako tuloy ang tingin niya sa dalaga. There was a sadness in those eyes na inalis din nito agad nang makita siyang nakatingin dito.

"And what will I get from this arrangement?"

She heard a scoff. "Really? You didn't even feel sorry for my father?"

Amelia fixed her eyes on the younger Del Rio. Samantha winced from their eye contact pero hindi nito inalis ang mata sa kanya. Amelia smirked. The girl is a stuborn one.

"Well... Did you?"

Bumukas ang bibig nito sa sinabi niya. Mr. Del Rio cleared his throat. "I'll give half of my shares to you Mrs. Montenegro. You will get 75 percent of the shares of your own company."

"Dad!"

"Sam."

Tiningnan ni Amelia ang kamay ng matanda ng hawakan nito ang kamay ng anak nito.

Sam glared at her pero hindi na ito nag salita pa. Amelia looked at the old man.

"You know what your daughter did? Bakit sakin mo pa siya ipapaubaya?"

"Because you are a professional Mrs. Montenegro. You are young and successful. There's no doubt in my mind that you will teach my daughter. But one thing that made me come to you is that I know what my daughter did. I want her to learn that what she did is wrong. Bayad utang niya ang gagawi niya sayo."

Amelia looked at Samantha's face pero nakapikit lang ang mga mata nito ng mariin. As if resigning to her faith. What is keeping the younger Del Rio from disagreeing to her father? Dahil ba sa mamamatay na ang ama nito at iyon ang huling hiling mula sa anak nito?

"Bridge. Make a contract about what happened today. Make Samantha Del Rio as my secretary."

Tumango sa kanya si Bridgette at lumabas na ito ng conference room.

Tinitigan niya si Samantha Del Rio. She smirked. "Wala kang sasabihin tungkol sa job offer na ibibigay ko sayo?"

Samantha looked at her directly. May inis sa mga mata nito na tila hinahamon si Amelia. So she didn't let her eyes stray away. Amelia smiled again. She liked someone who could challenge her openly.

Those big brown eyes are glaring at her and it's cute.

"What should I say? Alam kong papahirapan mo ako. So I am prepared but make sure that I will learn from all of the time I spent with you."

Umalog ang balikat ni Amelia. Then she looked seriously at Samantha. She will make sure that she will enjoy Samantha Del Rio's agony. But not in the way she expected it. Her plan is rolling in motion the day she learned that the old Del Rio wants his daughter to come work for her and learn the ways of managing a business from her.

"Mam?"

Bridgette came back, hugging the 3 folders with same documents inside.

Amelia handed the two folders to the father and daughter bago niya binasa at pirmahan ang hawak hawak niya.

"With that our deal is sealed." And Samantha Del Rio's fate is also sealed.

Amelia's corner lips tugged up. Pinasadahan niya ng tingin ang dalaga at nahuli niya ang mga mata nito and Samantha gulped.
