6 : ghost

Jake's lying on his bed while scrolling into social media. His mom called make him to stop and came out from his room.

"Jake, can you buy some groceries from the store? We're run out some ingredients right now. "

"Yeah, sure. " he takes the money and went to the store.

On his way to the store, he heard a sobbing sound and it's sending shivers to him. It's 8.00 p.m. and the sky was dark already. He removed all the thoughts and thinks positively.

The sobbing sound became louder as he became more scared. He then saw a girl crying at the park alone. He wondered what she's doing there at night and in a school uniform? He came closer to her carefully because he's still scared.

"Why she always like that? Why it's too hard to believe me? Why she always cared about him only? Does she ever cared about me? Had she's thinking I'm her child too? "

Jake startled at his place. He thought the girl was talking to him. He approached her again but she started sobbing again and he badly wants to talk to her yet he scared.

After a long hesitate, he tried to talk to her, "Hi, what are doing here at this time? "

Heeseo stopped sobbing and looked at him slowly because she taught it was a ghost who tried to talk to her. She's screaming when she saw his face and same goes to Jake. He saw her red and puffy eyes.

Heeseo hit him several times causing him to groan in pain. He backed away from her and went straight to the store.

"What is that? Not a ghost right. " she watched him disappeared from her sight. ''Is there's a ghost that can talk? Impossible.'' Then, she continued crying again.

"What was that earlier? Did she thinks I'm a ghost or something? I'm a human!" Jake blabbered on the way to the store while her breathe hitches.

He reached the store and buy some groceries his mom needed. He then grabbed a juice for himself because he's thirsty after running earlier.

He walked back to his home while listening some songs because he still scared. Who knows that it was a ghost? But being hit by a ghost, it's kinda unrealistic. His forehead creased when he saw the girl earlier still at the same place as before.

"Is it really a ghost? Why she doesn't move to another place? Or it's a human for real? "

He approached her again and at the same time she saw him with her puffy eyes. Their eyes connected again. Jake hold himself from screaming again because her face looks horrible right now. She stared at him and realize it was the person earlier.

"Ahhhhhhh. A ghost. "

"Shh. I'm not a ghost. I'm human. " he puts his index finger to his mouth to prevent her from screaming.

"How I want to believe you're a human? "

"Look, I have two eyes, a nose, a pair of ears, a legs, an arm and a handsome face.'' he said while showed his face.

Heeseo just watched him weirdly, "Did he thinks he's so handsome."

"What do you say just now? It's night so my handsomeness probably tired right now. " he said proudly.

She just judged him silently. "The confidence. Where did he buy it?"

Jake stood awkwardly before take a sit beside her. "Can I sit here? " she nodded.

"Why are you here at this time? Do you know it's dangerous for a girl alone here?"

"I'm already get use to it. I'm always came here. No need to worry."

He turned to face her, "But why are you crying earlier? I thougt it was a ghost. I can hear your sobs from afar."

"Nothing. I'm just feeling want to cry." she answered.

"It's impossible to cry without a reason. If there's no reason for you to cry, why you don't cry at your home?" he asked again.

She remained silent and flashed a sweet smile before looked up to the sky. He looked at her and followed to enjoy the night sky.

"You know, it's been a while there's someone cared about me. Ask me why I'm here at night. Usually people will pass by me because they think I'm a ghost. "

He looked at her who still look up to the sky. He doesn't know what to answered so he takes the juice he bought earlier and gave it to her.

"Why? "

"You probably didn't eat yet cause you still in your school uniform. "

She smiled to him and took the juice, " Thank you. "

She drank and finished it quickly. He's right. She doesn't eat or drink anything before because there's a lot of things happened.

Jake saw her finished it quickly, "If you have something on your mind, you can share with me. I'll not judging you. "

She faced him and started to tear up again. He faced her too, "Why are you crying? "

"No there's nothing. " she lied.

"Is it too hard? "

"Yes."

"Why? " he asked her.

She stopped for a while before continued, "If there's no one would trust you, what do you feel? "

"I will be sad for sure. "

"Right. If people choose the wrong side instead of choosing the truth, because of their power, what do you feel? "

"I will be mad. "

"Right."

"If you facing all those things right now, I hope you stay strong. No matter what happens, you can face this. " he encouraged her.

She wiped her tears away. "Why are you here at this time? "

"My mom asked me to buy some groceries but I saw you crying here. So here I am. "

"You want to know something? "

He frowned, "What? "

"I think your mom will nagging at you later. She maybe thought her groceries still in the process to make."

He gasped, " Oh my god. I'm forgot my mom. I'll go home first."

"Go."

"You go home too. There will be a ghost and talk to you if you still there. " he bid his goodbye and walked home quickly.

"There's no ghost here. "

Heeseo then felt cold suddenly and rubbed her arm. "I think there's really a ghost here. "
