A/N Omg my guys!!!! I'm getting an honorable mention in a newspaper on my story The Dragons Revenge!!!!!! Im so excited and honestly the only one that should get credit is my bff WolfieGalactic for telling me about the contest in the first place, enjoy chapter 3!

I walked down the sidewalk towards the library, hoping I'd see my mate again.

I hope she doesn't hate me for it...
Relax sheesh, she's our mate. She enjoyed it.
If you say so........

As I opened the door I heard the sound of my mates melodious voice telling a story.

"-but instead of attacking like the girl thought it would, the wolf lied down and army crawled closer, setting its head on her lap. After that day the girl and the wolf lived together happily ever after."

I smiled as I heard little children cheer for the happy ending of the story before I stepped around a bookshelf to see May sitting on a chair in the middle of a circle of little kids, all ranging from 8-10 years old.

A chorus of 'yay's sounded around the room before the kiddos dispersed and May finally looked over at me, her smile fading. It hurt, but I smiled and waved to her anyway, hoping she'd smile back. It didn't work.

"Did you follow me here?" She asked as she reached me.
"Of course not, I'm new to town and thought I'd check out the library. Even if I wanted to follow you I couldn't because I don't know where you live."
She quirked a questionable eyebrow at me but didn't push, watching the kids run around and arguing over what book was to be read next.

"So how come you read books to kids?"
"Because it's something I wish someone had done for me as a child. Something that got taken from me and I had no say in it at all. I want these kids to remember these happy moments of reading fairytales and hoping for something like that to happen to them. It helps keep my mind at ease from work."

"And what does your mind need easing from at work?" She scoffed.
"Just because we did it once -and because you wouldn't let me leave- doesn't mean I'm going to tell you my secrets. Where's the fun in that?"

I flashed her a seductive smirk and shrugged innocently, it wasn't exactly my fault my wolf took over and did it.

She just rolled her eyes and grinned as a little boy ran over with Little Red Riding Hood.

"Who are you?" I asked, squatting down to be closer to his height. He looked to be 8 maybe 9 years old with fluffy brown hair and innocent, sparkly blue eyes.

"Tanner! Are you one of ms. May's friends?" Tanner replied, looking excited.
"I sure hope so little buddy cause that'd make me pretty lucky wouldn't it?"
"Yeah! May's the best!" He ran back to his circle of friends to wait patiently for my mate to read the story to them.

"I'll let you get back to your reading then, I'm sure they'd like another story before I have to go." I frowned.
"Why do you have to leave so soon?"
"Work." That was the only answer she gave me before walking back to the children and sitting in her chair to read to them.

It's been a week and I've been going to the library every single day at the same time each day to see May. It was the one chance I got to get to know her, she still refuses to tell me what she does for a living and she always seems tired and extra moody. I didn't understand it, but then again, what man ever understands a woman?

As I neared the library I felt something off, and saw it for that matter, everyone was standing outside, looking terrified.

"What's going on?" I asked the librarian, only to be pulled further away from the building.
"There's a bomb inside, pressure plate. There are two people inside."
"Who?"
"May and Tanner."

May's POV
I was at the library as usual when I heard a click sound and what sounded like a timer, stepping forward to investigate I found Tanner standing on an elated part of the carpet, a bomb hidden tucked in the books.

Tanner was confused and sobbing, saying he hadn't meant to break anything. I was just glad he didn't move.

"Everyone outside now!" I demanded, moving to Tanner's side and comforting him. Everyone else rushed out and Tanner clung to me, sobbing.

"What's going on May?" He'd asked, I could hear the tremor on his voice.
"Everything's going to be just fine ok? I promise. Just try not to move."

I quickly pulled out the bomb and inspected it closely, trying to figure out how to disarm it.

"M-May?" I glanced back at the poor, trembling boy.
"Yes Tanner?"
"What's gonna happen? If I move?" I frowned softly at his question and returned my attention to the bomb.
"Hopefully nothing."

But as the seconds ticked down I lost all hope of being able to disarm it and stood shakily.

"Alright Tan, this is going to be scary but I need you to trust me ok?" He gave me a stiff nod.
"I'm going to throw you out the window," I pointed to the window only three feet away. "And you're going to tuck and roll to keep yourself protected, alright?"
He blinked at me with wide eyes.

"I promise you're going to be ok, it'll definitely hurt, but nothing that can't be fixed." He nodded slowly and I grabbed him by his shoulders, putting one foot over the pressure plate.

Hopefully by putting my weight on it he'll have a chance to get away.....

I counted down from five and on zero I pushed down on the plate lightly and very literally through Tanner out the window, praying he doesn't get hurt too bad.

I heard a yelp and his mother call out for him before rushing over to help, which was followed by my sigh of relief.

"May?!" Noel....
Shortly after he called for me he appeared and I gave him a sheepish smile.
"Don't worry about me, go make sure everyone else is safe. I'll be ok here." He scowled and stepped closer.
"You're not fine and you're not ok. You're on a pressure plate for Pete's sake!"
"I know, but I rather die knowing that Tanner and everyone else is out safe."

He sighed heavily and kneeled beside the bomb for a few moments before coming over and wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I'm not risking it, this is gonna hurt."
"Wha-" I didn't get to finish my question when he yanked us both backwards, sending us stumbling for the broken window.

All too soon there was a loud KABOOM! And fire erupted through the library, burning everything it could which -unfortunately- included my pant leg.

I screamed and kicked out my leg, trying desperately to extinguish the flames crawling up but to no avail, I could smell and feel my flesh burning and all I could hear was the ringing in my ears and my silent pleas for the pain to be over.

A comforting hand brought warm, soothing sparks to my arms as small wet droplets dotted my face. I felt tired, and in extreme pain. All I wanted to do was let my eyes close, so that's what I did, ignoring the nagging voice in the back of my mind that kept begging me to stay awake.
