May's POV
I've been on the run for a month and a half. I hid at the Order's headquarters to ensure my privacy until I was ready to go back out. I only have maybe two weeks left of my pregnancy and I still wasn't sure how I felt. A stranger was the father to my child, the same child that somehow survived while I was in a coma for seven months.

For reasons I can't explain the closer I get to the due date the more my body seems to yearn for him, making me want to be with him. I paced inside my bedroom in thought, wondering if maybe, just maybe, Noel could possibly be a spy, there's no way he would just show up while I was there and then proceed to come everyday.

Heck maybe that girl at Simon Black's party is a spy too!

I sighed and rubbed my forehead.

Great now I'm being paranoid

I paused when there was a knock at the door and listened.

"May it's Derek, boss wants you to do one more mission before you take maternity leave."
"I'm eight and a half months pregnant right now, what am I going to be able to do?"
"Boss wants you to talk to Isla Fang, I guess he has reason to believe that she might be part of the Renegades. Intel shows she's got a couple kids so maybe you could pretend meeting her was an accident and ask for advice." I scowled.

"What am I supposed to learn from her?"
"Don't ask her directly, just try and get her to confess to being a spy, or not if she's not one."
"Yeah, cause I can totally try and get a stranger to tell me something like that." I replied sarcastically.
"You can, I know you can. You leave in an hour so be ready."

He walked away, leaving me to get ready while my mind spun.

What if she is a spy? What's she going to do if I find out? What if she hurts my baby?! This is an awful idea...... why can't they send someone else?

An hour and a half later

I walked down the street towards the ice cream shop Isla and her twelve year old daughter Arie go for ice cream once a week. As I neared the door I hugged my stomach and allowed the little girl to run into me before I took a couple steps back.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. Are you alright?" The woman from Isla's file -in simpler terms, Isla- asked, studying my stomach. I laughed softly and smiled.
"I'm fine, thank you. Just shocked me I guess."
"Well if there's anything I can do just let me know," she smiled. "I have experience."
"Yeah, I'm just worried about how I'm going to do anything really. I live alone, I have no idea where the father is and my family doesn't live here."
"I'm sure the father will show up soon," she paused to sniff the air. "I could probably find him for you."
I smiled, amused.

It's not hard to tell that either she's a cop or she's a spy.

"How? Are you a cop or something?" She laughed at my question.
"Something like that, why don't you come to my place while we wait."
"Wait for what?"
"A friend of mine, he found out his girlfriend was pregnant and then she panicked and left him while he was busy. I wanna make sure that he isn't the father before I track down some other guy."
I laughed softly and nodded, walking with them back to her four story house in the middle of the woods.

Dang If this doesn't scream spy I have no idea what does.........

The lawn was trimmed perfectly, the driveway circles around so people can drive forward and still get out, bushes lined the pathway to the front door which, by the way, looked like real wood. Inside, the walls were dark brown, the couch and chairs inside the living room to my left were all black or brown leather and in perfect condition, the coffee table was glass held up by a black stand and a ton of pictures of wolves or people I didn't know were hung on the wall.

She led me to the three seater black leather couch and gestured for me to sit while she got us tea.

"So what do you do for a living anyway? I mean it must be something important if you live in a mansion like this, everything here screams wealth." Isla snickered softly, stirring her tea.
"My whole family lives here, along with family friends and a few select friends. We all pitch in for the cost."

I nodded softly and studied the pictures of people on the walls as footsteps neared me.

"You asked for me Isla?" The voice was familiar, yet I wasn't sure where I'd heard it before.
"Yes, I was wondering if this is the young lady you've been talking about lately."
There was a moment of silence before a growl reverberated around the room and Noel suddenly appeared in front of me.
I leaned back, my arms sliding around my stomach defensively.

"Why'd you run?" He asked me, his eyes filled with love, but also pain.

I'd hurt him by running.........

"Gee I don't know. Maybe it's because I found out that I was in a coma for seven in a half months. maybe it's because I woke up in a hospital with a practical stranger holding my hand! MAYBE ITS BECAUSE I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT, THE FATHER IS A STRANGER AND ITS DANGEROUS FOR ME TO HAVE A CHILD IN MY LINE OF WORK!" I shouted at him angrily. He seemed shocked at my temper and stepped away, frowning.
"I'm sorry ok? I didn't mean for this to happen," he gestured to my belly. "But it did, and whether you like it or not I'm the father. I want to keep you and the baby safe."
I sighed heavily.

".........Did you find out the gender.........?" I was genuinely curious. Now that I'd used most of my energy yelling at him I wanted to know as much as I could about my little nugget.
"No, I didn't want to find out without you. I figured you'd want to be the first to know." I nodded softly in appreciation and paced a little in thought, feeling Noel's eyes on me.
"What kind of job do you have............?"

I frowned softly and blinked at him.
"It's not important." I replied curtly.
"You said it was dangerous for the baby. So it is important, and before you say 'mind your own business' or whatever, just remember that that baby is mine too."

"Ok fine, you wanna know what kind of job I have?" He nodded softly.
"I'm a spy for the Order of Elementals."
