Himika couldn't sleep. The Elders told her that she was going to get out tonight. That thought kept her mind wired. She kept her light off just in case Danzo got suspicious. As she laid on her bed, she listened to any sound that passed her door just in case. Finally, she heard soft footsteps walk up to her door. It opened revealing a familiar figure. He wore an anbu mask and was in anbu gear.
"Himika?" he whispered. She sat up and looked at him. It was hard to tell who it was because it was so dark.
"It's time," he said. Himika got up and followed him out of the hideout, making sure they didn't make any noise. They concealed their chakra and moved cautiously throughout the hideout. Once they were out they ran towards the gate. When they got there Himika finally looked at the man. It was Kakashi. He stopped and took off his mask.
"Himika, I'm so sorry-" he started but she cut him off.
"I'm tired of hearing the 'I'm sorry' statement. You all knew about Danzo and you let him take me anyways," she said harshly. Kakashi's eyes softened.
"I know. I just... I didn't think there wouldn't be any supervision. There was always supervision by the Elders or by the Hokage when I was in the Anbu," he tried to explain. Himika scoffed.
"Whatever," she said.
"So, now what happens?" she asked him. Kakashi handed her a scroll. It had the Hokage's name and symbol on it.
"For your safety Lady Tsunade wants you to leave the village and go to a different one. This scroll is for whichever village you end up in. The only thing is that because we are strong allies with the Sand, it would be too obvious if you went there," he explained to her. She took the scroll and put it in her pouch.
"What do I do when I get there?" she asked. Kakashi sighed and looked down.
"You are to sign a form and become a shinobi for their village," he said solemnly. Himika looked at him.
"But that form... That means I would no longer be a Leaf shinobi..." she said.
"I know..." he said.
"That means I wouldn't be able to come back..." she trailed off.
"What about Shikamaru?" she asked him. Kakashi put a hand on her shoulder.
"Himika... I think... You should let him go," he said to her. Himika backed away and shook her head.
"No... I'm not going to just leave him because I can't come home!" her voice raised a little bit.
"Himika, until we get Danzo out of the anbu you can't come back. We don't know when that will be. It could be years," he said. Himika slammed her hand on the ground and Fang appeared.
"Lady Himika... You look different," he said. He could feel the difference in her chakra. The difference in her soul.
"Fang, I need you to stay with Shikamaru. I will communicate-" Kakashi cut her off.
"No, Himika it's too dangerous," he said. Himika glared up at him.
"Let me do one thing of my own free will. I was taken out of my boyfriend's arms against my will," Himika stood up and walked towards Kakashi.
"I was chained in a room for a year against my will and now I have to leave the village against my will. Let me do this one thing," she said sternly. Kakashi was hesitant, but he gave in.
"Fang, I'm going to communicate through you to Shikamaru. I need you to let him know I'm okay and I haven't forgotten about him. Please, can you do this for me?" she asked him. Fang nodded and took off towards the Nara compound. Himika looked back at Kakashi.
"Since I can't convince you, here," he said and opened a scroll. A poof of smoke appeared and he handed her a shawl. It was the one Shikamaru gave to her.
"Thank you, Kakashi-sensei," she said. Kakashi pulled her into a hug.
"Just call me Kakashi. You are no longer under my authority," he said and released her.
"I guess this is goodbye," she said.
"For now," he said. Himika nodded her head and started off in a random direction. Right now her goal was to get as far away from the village as possible. Then once she was far enough away, she would figure out where to go. It made things worse that she couldn't go to the Sand, she knew they would keep her safe but she understood why it would be the most obvious place. She was friends with the Sand siblings.
~Time skip~
She ran all night. She was on the edge of the Land of Fire by now and she was hiding in a cave. She barely slept because every noise she heard she thought it was Danzo and his anbu. She never thought the day would come when she wouldn't be able to trust the people who kept the village safe.
She looked outside to see the sun was starting to come up. She had decided on where she was going to go. The only place where Leaf shinobi weren't allowed to go to unless they were called upon and even then they were put under strict surveillance. The Hidden Cloud Village.
She left as the sun rose, she figured that by the time she got there it would be in the afternoon. It would give her enough time to settle in if the Raikage accepted her. She had done research on him and he was a pretty strong guy. He could be brutally honest and harsh. She would just have to wait and see for herself.
