~Smut Warning~
Days had passed and Himika was still asleep. Thankfully her house wasn't part of the destruction of the village. She lived far enough away that everything was still intact. Shikamaru had stayed with her because he didn't want her to be alone when she woke up or just in case anything happened to her. He had Sakura come by when she was done at the hospital to check on her.
"Is she okay Sakura?" he asked her. Sakura had her hand on Himika's forehead and a blue hue was around her hand.
"She's okay. Her chakra is finally stable and her vitals look good. Whatever jutsu she used really depleted her energy levels. She should wake up either today or tomorrow," she said. Shikamaru nodded his head. He walked Sakura to the door.
"She's really lucky to have you Shikamaru. I don't know who else would go to these lengths to make sure she was okay," she said. Shikamaru smiled softly.
"Well, it's thanks to you for having me ask her out. If you didn't tell me to, I don't think I would have," he said. Sakura giggled and told him goodbye. He shut the door and walked back into the bedroom. She was so peaceful when she slept. He didn't understand how she could still look so beautiful when she was asleep.
He sat at her desk and played Shogi. He wanted to keep his mind off the fact she still wasn't awake and he also wanted to keep his mind fresh. Every so often he would look up at her just to check on her. It wasn't until he heard the covers rustling that he stopped what he was doing and went to go sit by her. She opened her eyes revealing the soft whitish-gray orbs her eyes had become.
"Hey there, beautiful. Do you want me to make you some coffee?" he asked her in a soft voice. She nodded her head slightly and he did exactly that. When he brought the cup in, she was sitting up and the covers were pulled down. He handed her the coffee.
"How long have I been asleep?" she asked.
"A couple of days. Your chakra was almost depleted and Sakura said your energy was basically drained," he said. Himika took a sip of the hot coffee. She felt herself perk up a bit at the taste. It was then that she noticed the symbols on her hands. She looked confused. She set the cup down and ran into the bathroom. She saw herself in the mirror. She was a completely different person. Her hair was long and gray, She had a symbol on her forehead and her eyes were a grayish color.
"S-Shikamaru is this what Lord Riki was talking about... Now that I unlocked this power, this is what I'm going to look like?" she asked. She heard soft footsteps come into the bathroom. He put a hand on her back.
"Yeah," he said.
"D-does it bother you?" she asked him. Shikamaru shook his head.
"No, no it doesn't. Not one bit. I think you're even more beautiful now," he said. Himika felt her cheeks heat up and her heart skipped a beat. She was pulled into a soft hug.
"I'm so glad you're back. It almost drove me insane when you weren't here. Then when Asuma- sensei died, I almost lost it," he said. Himika rubbed his back.
"I'm so sorry for your loss Shika. When Fang told me I wanted to come back so bad. But, Darui wouldn't let me," she said. Shikamaru released her and walked her back into the room.
"Speaking of that Darui guy. He seemed to have a soft spot for you," he said. Himika looked at him confused.
"What do you mean? You know Darui?" she asked. Shikamaru shook his head.
"I met him after you passed out. He came to the village and told me that he was going to take you back and then when Kakashi told him that we solved the Danzo thing and that you were able to come home he looked upset," he said. Himika could see the jealousy on his face.
