POV: AMANDA "ASIA" ALEXANDER

Tuesday | 6:46 AM

"Amanda, wake up nuh!"

Anthony's voice boomed through the room as he rattled me from my sleep, pulling me awake from my well-deserved slumber. My eyes barely cracked open before the bright sunlight pierced through the curtains, making them ache instantly. I groaned, desperately dragging the sheets over my head to escape both the light and his insistent nagging.

"Aye, get up man. Mi nah have time fi dis. Mi haffi drop yuh off and mi dun late."

His tone was very passive aggressive, the kind that meant he wasn't in the mood for the back and forth. So, to avoid the fucking argument this early, I flung the sheet off my body, making a show of my irritation, and stormed into the bathroom.

"U get up late. Now is my fault?" I snapped, before slamming the door shut.

I stood there for a second, not from shame, but from the sting of how fast the energy shifted. If I had to rewrite a better start to my morning, it would've begun with another round of pleasure and not his fucking attitude. Instead, he had to start things on the wrong foot.

Anthony was still yelling through the door as I stepped into the glass-enclosed shower, but the rush of water quickly drowned out his nonsense. I tried to let my thoughts wander, just for a second, back to how gentle he was last night. Though the peace was short-lived. The pounding on the door brought me back to the raging bull on the other side. A man who doesn't know how to control his emotions when things aren't going his way.

"Amanda! Look..." Anthony's voice tried to compete with the sound of the water, but it came through as nothing more than background noise.

I rolled my eyes, finished showering and when I reached for a towel, I realized there were none. "Great," I muttered under my breath, biting back the urge to scream. There was no way I was about to ask him for one. I scanned the room until my eyes landed on a small hand towel. Pathetic, but it would have to do. I dried off as best I could before tossing it into the laundry basket. When I stepped out, Anthony was nowhere to be seen. However, on the bed my overnight bag and phone were neatly placed, as if he was making up for his bad attitude in silence.

I checked the time, and it was around 7:00 AM. I didn't have class until 8:00, so there was no reason for him to be rushing me out like I overstayed my welcome. I let out an irritated huff and got dressed quickly, just to avoid giving him a reason to start another argument. My outfit was simple, yet it carried an air of quiet confidence. A fitted black button-up tucked into high-waisted striped slacks that hugged just right, paired with sharp black heels. I misted on a touch of fragrance, something that lingered long after I left any space, then made my way to the full-length mirror. I ran my hands down my sides, smoothing away invisible creases, and tilted my head slightly, letting my eyes roam over my reflection.

If Anthony was in a mood, at least I looked damn good dealing with it.

I was too caught up admiring myself to notice him standing in the doorway. How long he'd been there? No clue. It wasn't until he cleared his throat that I finally looked up. He stood with his fists tucked deep into his pockets, and annoyance carved into every inch of his face.

Still, for someone so pressed, he looked frustratingly good. A crisp white shirt, black trousers and polished dress shoes. The top buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing just enough of his chest to pull my eyes, exactly where he wanted them.

"Yuh ready? It done 7:15, and mi haffi reach work fi 7:45," he muttered, sucking his teeth before turning on his heels and disappearing outside.

How was I supposed to know what time he had to be up? The man said nothing. At this point, I was convinced the man was bi-polar. One minute he's all sweet and then the next he's cold as ice. Still, my mind was tangled in last night... in the way he fucked me senseless. A part of me wished he'd just pin me to the damn wall and do it all over again. Ugh, but I simply shook that thought way. I went back through my bag, pulled out my toothbrush, freshened up, then grabbed my things and headed outside to find him.
