March of 1762
Tungsten, Pennsylvania
It was raining hard and the sky was pitch black.
Freezing cold, Heidi Sciezburn was slouched under a makeshift shied of various types of leaves, waiting for her brother to take her home from work. She just finished a day of shift as a cook on a wealthy family two towns away from where she lives.
She could not forget the mysterious guy she saw at the Redknight's that day. He has a dark aura yet, held the most beautiful face she'd ever seen in the seventeen years of her existence. A face she could not took her eyes off that when he asked for her name she just froze. Heidi could not contain a blush at the thought of him smirking at her. "I must've looked so stupid; I never should've talked to him in the first place." Blushing, she tugged at her now soaking wet clothes.
Still thinking of the guy, a thought hit her. "He must be the family's prodigal son, Schuyler Redknight. One of the most sought after bachelor of their time. Never settling for anything more than a harmless fling...leaving a string of broken hearted women on every country he left." She knew that little about the man, yet it was enough to berate herself for thinking romantically, even just for a second, of the man. He was way out of her league and she doubted he even noticed her existence.
Looking up she saw an approaching silhouette, she bolted up; ready to scold her brother for being. As the figure grew larger, she thinks for a second if itwasreally her brother. His body was leaner, taller, his hair was longer. No, definitely not her brother. But, who might it be? She could only think of one person that has the same height as it does. "But, why would Schuyler Redknight be here?" she asked to no one, in particular.
And true to her inkling, Schuyler Redknight stopped in front of Heidi giving her a hand which she immediately took. She shuddered at his touch. His hands were freezing. She noted. Heidi looked at him, confused of the man's sudden appearance. "What brought a beautiful lady alone, in the middle of a dark—nowhere?" he said not letting go of her hand, looking at her eyes as if he can read her by doing so.
"I-I was just waiting for my brother."She stuttered. He raised a delicate brow.
"How patient of you to wait for almost two hours..." Bewilderment crossed her face for she didn't even realize that two hours had passed. How did he know? Had he been watching her? She paid no mind that her brother never showed up as her attention focused solely on the man's aristocratic face. "Come, I'll give you a ride." a smirk found its way on his face; unlike the earlier it has a hint of friendliness or something along the thought. Flirting, he was flirting on her.
"Ye—No, no I can't. I need to wait for my brother." She snapped.
He paused for a while, looking like he was having an internal battle with himself.
