Why does it have to be her?

No one Pov:

It was a normal day Emily went to work but Meredith had the day off and Emily decided to take the kids to daycare anyways because they wanted to see their friends. A trauma came in and Emily went to surgery with Callie and Arizona because Alex also had the day off even though he was supposed to be on peds that day, but Arizona offered to sub in for him. And Meredith decided to surprise Emily at work with flowers. 

Emily Pov:
I was in surgery with Callie and Alex when the scrub nurse said, " You have a call from Meredith" I then said, "answer it" then I said "hello" and Meredith said, "they say nothing lasts forever. But they ain't seen us together, or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes. Just a T-shirt in the kitchen, with no make-up and a million other things I could look at my whole life. A love like this makes a girl have second thoughts. Maybe somethings last forever after all." I smiled and said, "I love you" she said, "I love you too" this whole conversation was on speaker phone and Callie said, "you guys are such romantics" and then Meredith said over the phone "shut up" and then there was a crash sound. I then said quietly "Mer" then there was no answer I then said louder "Mer" and then there was still no answer. I step away from the table and start hyperventilating and then Callie runs over to me ignoring the blood between the both of us and the patient or the fact that we would have to scrub-in again and held me and whispered "breath. Breath I am sure Mer is fine but how about we go and find out she will probably be here soon" and I nod and walk out, and Callie tells Arizona "Finish this up and go find us in the pit Meredith will probably be there." Arizona nods and I run down to the pit and an ambulance pulls up and I already see Bailey, Jo and Mark in the ambulance bay, and they pull a patient out. The medic then says, "Jane do-" and I walk up and say, "that is not Jane Doe that is M-Meredith Grey that is Mer" and then Bailey just looks at me and then gets into action and before I know it they take her into Emergency surgery. Then she gets out of surgery and Bailey walks up to us int the waiting room and with me is Arizona, Lexie, Alex, Callie, and Maggie. She then says "she is very unstable she may wake up she may not but for now all we can do it wait" Lexie bursts into tears and Maggie rubs her back and Callie and Arizona and Alex look at me but I just stare off into nothing and just sit there. Then Jo comes and whispers something into Baileys ear and Bailey lets out a single tear and says as her voice breaks "Uhm M-Meredith does not have long to live she is awake but will not be for long and then she will end up dead in a few hours"  I then finally break my straight face and my bottom lip starts to quiver and I feel the tears flow as I drop to the ground and I feel strong arms pick me up it was Alex and I cry into his shirt and he just whispers "shussh its okay". I then eventually walk into Meredith's room and hold her hand and she whispers barely "sing p-please" I stay still for a minute and sing "S-She don't know I got some big, big plans. Build a little house out on some hand-me-down land. Find a little island where we'd go to get tanned. Bet we'd take out kids down there one day. And I know she wouldn't mind if I, did a little something like find a flight, overnight to paradise and leave tonight. And I'ma put a diamond on her hand. She doesn't know I got some big, big plans. She don't know, I already bought a ring. Hid it in the bottom left drawer right beside the sink. A shiny emerald diamond on a a brand-new band. Called her people Cristina and Alex asked her sisters for her hand." I let a few tears shed and her sisters are crying and everyone else is too. I also feel Callie and Arizona's hand on my shoulder. "W-Well here I go, 'Cause right now we're back in her hometown. And I'm down on one knee. I guess she finally figured out. I'm gonna ask her to marry me. She don't know I got some big, big plans." Meredith smiles and then takes her last breath. I then go to walk away and say "uh excuse me I gotta go tell the kids" and Callie and Arizona look at my sadly and Arizona follows me on the way to daycare. I sign the kids out and they run towards me and hug me and Leo asks "mommy why are you crying" and I say "you know how mama was driving her car" Everly and Leo nod I then say "well Mama was in an accident" the Leo says "well is mama hurt. Is she is surgery" he says with an innocent voice I then say "She died" then Everly says "Then you should fix her" then I say "They can't fix her" then she says innocently "but you fix everyone so you have to fix her" I then let a few tears fall and I look at them and say " I can't fix her" then she says "Why?" and I say "I can't fix her because n-no can fix her. She is died Ev. Mama died" then Leo and Everly rap their little arms around me and hug me. They then walk over to there Aunt Callie and talk to her and I walk to Arizona and she gives me a solemn look and I cry in her arms she then says "hey your okay you and the kids are gonna be fine" I then saw through tears " I-I can't do this without her" she just holds me and I drift off to sleep even though we are still in the hospital and even though I don't remember Callie and Arizona took me and the kids with them and we fell asleep in there apartment.

Sorry about this I was running out of ideas, and this opens up a lot of story lines, so I went with this one. If it makes you feel any better, I cried while making this and it was my last resort.
