||Aether's pov||

I'm currently walking down the halls of Teyvat High, I'm about to go to lunch. Xiao, Hu Tao, Xingqui, Chongyun and me are supposed to have lunch together. But as I'm walking to the lunch hall I over hear chatting. I notice my friends Ayaka and Yoimiya

"Hey, is something going on?" -Aether

"Hi Aether!" -Yoimiya

"Aether, perfect timing. Me and Yoimiya just heard some interesting news" -Ayaka

"We heard Xiao got into a fight again, sounds like it was really bad this time"

Yoimiya sounded worried "Is it serious?"

"Sounds like it, you should go check on him" -Ayaka

"Is he even still here?" -Yoimiya

"He probably went home" -Ayaka

"I'll go check on him, can you guys go tell the office I'll be gone?" -Aether

"Will do, Go check on your boyfriend" -Ayaka

"Hm? What was that last part?" -Aether

"Oh nothing" -Ayaka

Yoimiya just giggled, did she say something funny?

||Time skip to Xiao's house||

I knock on the door and wait for an answer. "Xiao?" I hear stuff falling and crashing. "Xiao are you okay!?" He opens the door and I immediately notice how beat up him face looks, he didn't even clean off most of the blood. "What are you doing here?" He asks in a kind of annoyed tone, but I don't take it personally he sounds annoyed quite often even when he isn't.

"I came to check on you, can I come in?"

"I'm fine. I'll mange on my own"

"No no no you won't" a ginger appears above xiao's hair.
Childe and Zhongli, Xiao's adoptive parents "Xiao you just knocked over 20 things on your way to the door. We have to leave and you won't be able to manage on your own" Zhongli says as he picked up a picture frame that fell. "Plus you get to spend time with your boyfriend Aether~"

"CHILDE." Xiao screamed and started arguing with the ginger. I blush at the thought " come in aether, make yourself at home. Me and childe are just about to leave. Isn't that right dear? "

"Yes. Goodbye Xiao and Aether, have fun ~"

I walk in and Zhongli and Childe leave. Childe always acts like that I decided to ask Xiao. "He called us boyfriends...ha"

Xiao's face goes a bit red and he ignored what I said and start tripping and stumbling to his room. I forgot the topic and help him.

"Here I'll go get a cloth, bandages and pain killers"

"I'm fine Aether."

"No your not, now stay there"

|| Xiao's pov ||

Aether never listens whenever I say I'm fine, I think he has a intuition for this kind of stuff? Or is it just common in friends? Not even when I get into fights, but just when I am walking the halls and I'm just not feeling quite myself, Aether stops and asks if I'm okay. But the thing is...I feel okay whenever he asks me that. Right in that moment it's like some part that hurts deep down just feels..okay... whenever he talks to me, or even looks at me I just feel right. Like that's where I'm supposed to be. I'm on the right path.

I must have been thinking for a while because Aether came back. He sat on the bed beside me and started cleaning my face. I refused to let Childe or Zhongli get anywhere near me..and honestly it's because I wanted to see Aether so close to my face.. rubbing it with a cloth making sure he doesn't hurt me..how he looks at me with such care..

I knew as soon as he heard I got into a fight he would come over and make sure I was okay, he has always been like that.

"What happened this time?" I could not lie to Aether but I can't tell him the full truth. "they started it."

"What did they say?"

"Why are you so interested." He pauses and stops cleaning my face to stare at me.

"Because I care about you!" I felt my heart skip a beat. And that's when I know it was stupid to even try to hide the truth from him. "They...said horrible things about you, I just got so mad and frustrated..your such a great person, you care for other people, your kind to everyone even if they are rude to you. Your smile is brighter than anything, your so gorgeous, you are perfect in every way and I couldn't stand there and let them say shit like that!"

"Xiao..." Aether hugs me.

It takes me a minute to realize everything I've said..I think I've realized something..

"Aether.." I let go of him and look into his beautiful golden eyes.

"I love you.. everything about you, your smile. Your eyes, your personality. Everything"

I'm being so stupidly cheesy right now! Ugh why did I have to say that. What if he says no... I'll loose one of my only friends.

"Sorry that was stupid and cheesy, uh just ignore-"

Before I could finish by sentence Aether kisses me, so gently and so sweet. "I love you Xiao"

I feel so happy in this moment I can't help but smile, I lift Aether up on to my lap and kiss him.

Aether breaks the kiss "Xiao, will you be my boyfriend!"

"Of course my little blonde boy" I go to kiss him again and he stops me. "We have to clean up your face!"

He cleans the blood away from my face and puts bandages on my cuts, he gives me pain killers to help.

I kissed him, and smiled. Something only he gets to see. I love him so much and I never in all my life want to leave him. He is my light in life. I love him more than life. He is my sun.
