I've had many jobs over the years. Currently I'm working as a bartender at this expensive restaurant. It pays well and it's not too bad of a job. Except for the annoying rich people who think everyone wants them.
This was one of those days..
"Hey handsome~"

"What drink do you want?"

"Awe come on handsome~ loosen up! Let's drink together~" I could tell by the way she was talking that she was drunk. It's always worse when they're drunk. "I am currently working"

"I'll pay you double what they pay you here~"

"Ma'am I'm interested in men" she stomped away angry muttering to herself. "If you're interested in men why don't I buy you a drink?"

"I'm taken" that's my go to lie at this job. I've said it so much even the managers genuinely think I'm in a relationship. "Aww~ come on~! You don't have to tell him~"

"Didn't you hear he has a partner. Scram kid before I kick you out" that was one of the managers here, Beidou. She runs this establishment with her wife Ningguang. "Fine I wasn't even that attracted to you anyway..."

"Tough night huh?"

"Yup." I say to her as I clean some glasses. Beidou is pretty relaxed, anyone she works with she considers her own and like she always says 'gotta protect your own right?' she's had to kick out quite a few people because they wouldn't leave me alone. "Your shifts pretty much over why don't you go home?"

"Thanks, I'm actually planning on heading to the bar tonight" I don't have work tomorrow so I'll probably hook up with someone. "why don't you drink here?" God no- if I was looking for a hookup I would never go for the snobby people here. I'd only go here if I was looking for a sugar daddy. Which I'm not, I have enough money. "Honey you know Aether likes the more traditional bars" Ningguang. She seems hard to approach but she's pretty nice. But I wouldn't DARE get on her bad sides. She has more money than everyone who goes here complained. "Traditional? What do you mean?"

"Less expensive furniture, loud music, dancing, room filled with sweat and the smell of booze" now she's saying outloud I can just imagine it. Beidou nods and speaks "Are you going with your boyfriend Aether?"

"Yeah, we planned a nice night"

"Why didn't you bring him here sometime? We would love to meet him" I told them I don't have parents, and now they subconsciously fill that role for me. They have their own son but he moved out and he travels around the world. They don't see him often so my guess is that they are projecting their motherly love to me. "I'll ask him tonight"

"We'll go have fun!"

"Huh? Beidou his shift isn't over?"

"He was getting alot of attention tonight he was obviously exhausted, I felt bad and told him he could leave early"

"You can take it out of my pay check"

"Oh god no! I would never do that, if anything I should pay you more for the inconvenience.." it looks like she's actually considering it.."really it's fine! I have more money than I need, I'm so grateful for this job I couldn't ask for more"

"Awe! Your such a good kid" Beidou ruffles my hair. "Go have a fun time"

"Not too much fun HAHAH"
