To say, Nat was relieved to see Nunew finally the next day is an understatement.

Max couldn't help but bring him to Bas's to meet them and ensure his baby would be safe. Max could be very protective of Nat, even toward his best friend Zee.

Nat POV:

I love Max, but he can be protective, and this whole thing with Zee is making it worse.

So, as soon as we arrived, I ran to the house. They quickly let me in and led me to where he was. I rushed him to his bedroom, where he was hiding in a ball under the covers.

I moved the covers so I could see him. His eyes were swollen, and his face was so red. He seemed so weak that it frightened me. He didn't see me yet, like he wasn't there mentally.

I carefully touched his face to wipe the tears away to grab his attention.

I finally spoke up, saying Nunew, it's me, Nat, your bestie, I am here. I had to repeat myself several times until he finally opened his eyes and just stared at me like he was questioning his reality.

He finally spoke up, asking if he was hallucinating or not. I told him it was me. He was not hallucinating.

He grabbed me hard and gave me a hug that felt like life or death. Like I just saved him from the edge of dying.

I keep hugging him, telling him to let it all out on me. He cried and then started screaming a hurt sound into my shoulder like he always held it in.

It was that sort of scream that was therapeutic. Once he did that, he pulled back and looked at me, and I could see the relief on his face.

I laid him down, told him to get some rest, and he asked me not to leave him too. I told him I wasn't going anywhere and wanted to get a rag and bowl of warm water to start cleaning him up. He said, "Okay, " and I promised I'd be a few minutes, that I needed to tell Max bye too.

I entered the other room where Max talked to Bas, Kim, and Cop.

Come to find out, Bas was about to leave and go help Perth and Mark with Saint. They keep Saint and Nunew apart until the party since they keep fighting.

They saw me and asked how it was going because they heard one of us screaming. I told them he was resting, but I needed to get back shortly and that it was Nunew screaming into me, finally letting out most of those emotions.

I go to Max and hold him, which worries him, so he asks if I can handle this. I tell him I can if he video calls me every day till the party. He says okay, and he, of course, plans to.

Max says he wants to get back and asks Bas if he wants him to drop him off at Saints office, that he was thinking about stopping by there before getting back to dealing with a Zee.

They said it would help Perth, and Mark could use a break just for a bit, even though he can handle Saint pretty well once Bas gets there.

That confused Max, and he asked how he could, that he didn't understand.

Kim then explained that Bas is Saint's best friend and that all three of them are quite fond of Saint and rather protective. He said that it's not always platonic between the four of them. To truly handle Saint because of how lost he gets when in pain, and that he is a dom switch who is very stubborn, you must be more physical than you think.
