Spring mornings were always a little chilly.
The crisp air sent a shiver through Yamaguchi's body as soon as he walked out his front door.Just like Tsukishima promised he was there to pick Yamaguchi up. Tsukishima looked Yamaguchi over. Their new uniforms were a classic style black gakuran. Tsukishima thought Yamaguchi looked nice in it, he then noticed something around Yamaguchi's neck. He stared at the black fabric almost turtleneck, wondering what is was.
"Ready to go Tsuki?" Yamaguchi asked looking at his best friend with a smile.
Tsukshimi replied "ah... yah..." and they both started walking down the street toward their new school.
Yamaguchi was fiddling with the dense covering around his neck. He kept pulling at the tough cloth, tugging at the hem trying to find a comfortable spot. He noticed Tsuki looking at him struggling and said. "My mom insisted I wear a neck guard." A thin yet durable fabric that had a locking clasp on the back. It came highly recommended by his doctor in order to prevent an unwanted marking from an Alpha. His mom was being a bit over protective, and even though Yamaguchi understood. He couldn't help but be a little irritated by all the new things he had to keep track off.
Yamaguchi signed.
Tsukishima looked over at Yamaguchi fiddling with his neck guard.
"Is that uncomfortable?" He asked.
Yamaguchi looked over and gave Tsukishima a slight smile nodding his head up and down. "It's fine. I just need to get used to it." He said.
Tsukishima looked ahead keeping a steady pace. He could definitely still smell that sweet smell. It wasn't as strong as it had been today. Maybe it's the collar? He thought.
The pair continued walking along. Tsukishima listened to Yamaguchi talk about his mothers overbearing worries this morning. "She was practically crying when I left" Yamaguchi embarrassingly recalled.
Tsukishima wondered did Yamaguchi get talked to about us bonding?
Yamaguchi wasn't acting any different than normal. Tsukishima wanted to ask but, he also didn't want to make Yamaguchi think about something like that all day. He knew how much his best friend would dwell on it. Forming a bond for an Alpha and Omega was a big deal. Tsukishima had stayed up all night researching it. He had been on various health websites and forums trying to find out as much as he could. While looking he saw a few stories of Omega's being taken advantage of and being "marked" unwillingly. This made Tsukishima nervous. He had read all it takes for for the Omega and Alpha to be in their "breeding states" to form the bond. So it could happen to an Omega even if they didn't want to. Tsukishima didn't know if there would be other Alpha's in school. The thought of another Alpha taking advantage of Yamaguchi made him feel uneasy. His mom and brother weren't wrong he thought. It did actually make sense but, he wasn't sure how to bring it up.
For now he decided to take his rut suppressants until he talked to Yamaguchi about it. According to his research they couldn't form a bond until Yamaguchi got his first heat.
Yamaguchi's first heat. Tsukishima's face started heating up, embarrassed by the idea.
"Tsukki?" Yamaguchi's voice took him out of that thought.
Tsukishima shook his head back and forth "I'm fine, just a little tired."
Yamaguchi looked up at his friend with concern.
"I'm really ok. I just couldn't sleep last night." Tsukishima said.
Yamaguchi nodded and gave him a smile. "Yah my mom was up all night preparing all my medicines haha. She was probably more nervous than I am." Said Yamaguchi.
