Another silent walk home Yamaguchi noted. This seemed to be becoming a norm for the two. Tsukishima walked Yamaguchi all the way home, which Yamaguchi did appreciate. He just wished Tsukishima had said goodbye properly.

He didn't say anything he just nodded and put his headphones on, leaving Yamaguchi feeling a little sad. Yamaguchi noticed he had a slight fever and he was pretty sure it was because of what happened in the park. He didn't want to worry his mom but, she noticed immediately that his cheeks were red. She made him go to bed and prepared some rice porridge. His mom had given him some aspirin and told him to take it easy for the night. He didn't want to worry her more so he didn't tell her about the strange smell or that Tsukishima had gotten into it with another Alpha.

Yamaguchi sat up in his bed, leaning against the headboard with his legs pulled up to his chest.
Tsukishima had been acting weird all day. Yamaguchi wished Tsukishima would tell him what was wrong but, he knew Tsukishima never would say.
He'd never been an open book for the most part. Even after the incident with his brother, Tsukishima never really talked about how it affected him.

Yamaguchi's mind drifted back to the hug. He thought about that hug a lot. That was probably the most vulnerable he had ever seen Tsukishima. And he had become like that because of him. Yamaguchi blushed at the that thought. Suddenly he felt like he was getting warmer. Yamaguchi tried to calm down. Maybe this was what going into heat was? He wasn't sure. He decided to take some heat suppressants just incase.

Yamaguchi wondered about the small orange haired omega in the park. He was so confident. Not like him at all. He could never stand up to two Alphas like that little omega did. Yamaguchi laid down on his side and pulled his blanket up around himself. Closing his eyes he tried his best to fall asleep. He needed to get some rest before the practice match tomorrow. Yamaguchi hoped tomorrow Tsukishima would be okay. He wished for the game tomorrow to go well and he wished that he could be at least a little more confident. Like the Omega in the park.

...

Everyday at the end of class. Yamaguchi would stretch his arms up above his head. Take a deep breath. Then start gathering his belongings, and put them neatly in his bag. He would turn to Tsukishima who would almost always be staring out the window. Yamaguchi would walk over to Tsukishima's desk and say "Ready to go?"

Tsukishima would turn to his friend and nod.

Walking to the gymnasium they already heard the thumping of volleyballs hitting the floor, and of course some familiar yelling and insults going back and forth.

Tsukishima made a hard left up the stairs to the locker room. Yamaguchi followed behind.

Yamaguchi didn't tell Tsukishima about his fever last night. He didn't want Tsukishima to worry since he had been in a bad mood the last few days. Yamaguchi did take a heat suppressant this morning just incase. It seemed to be working since his fever hadn't returned. They entered the changing room. Tsukishima placed his school bag in a random locker and started undressing. Yamaguchi followed suit. He made a effort not to look at Tsukishima as they changed. It wasn't like he didn't want to. Yamaguchi had been harboring some strange unfamiliar feelings since that night he kissed his friend on the cheek.

What are you thinking? Yamaguchi thought to himself, placing his hands over his face as he felt his cheeks burning up.

"You alright?" Yamaguchi looked up seeing Tsukishima hovering over him. He was already in his gym clothes.

Snapping back to reality Yamaguchi exclaimed. "Yes!"

Tsukishima raised an eyebrow, then began walking toward the door without saying anything. Yamaguchi took a breath and quickly finished changing into his gym clothes. He walked up behind Tsukishima making their way to the gymnasium.
