Lily met the boys at Asher's house with a smile on her face. She was wearing the new skirt her mother had bought her and felt cute. She was changing up her style and really liking it. Lily was used to being the girl who was friends with the guys, but she wanted to be the girl who was noticed by the guys and not as an extra needed to play flag football.

Asher made it down the stairs and was smitten. Lily stood there eating a muffin, but made it look like the most sensual thing. Her dark skin legs shined on display from the jeans skirt she wore. The white shirt made her glow and the nickname he had for her never felt righter. "Hi, firefly." Asher said with a smile once he got himself together. "You look really nice." Lily smiled that smile that made him want to do anything she asked.

"What the fuck are you wearing?" Lily turned to see a brooding Dallas and rolled her eyes. Ever since the summer before 6th grade Dallas had been a jerk to her. She counted on both hands the number of times he had been nice since they started middle school. "Clothes, jackass!" Mr. Reynolds came down the stairs at this moment. "Lily, language." She grumbled before apologizing. "Have a good day, kiddos." He said before shooing them outside.

They got on the bus and Lily sat with Asher. She was not dealing with Dallas and his mood swings this morning. As they made it to their locker, Lily heard someone whistle at her and it shocked her. She couldn't help the smile on her face but stopped when she saw Dallas marching over to the frightened boy who whistled.

"Dallas, stop!" She called out pulling his arm. "Whistle at her again and I'll pummel you into the ground!" He snarled causing the boy to nod frantically. Dallas was a big boy for his age. He was tall and meaty and this made other boys who were scrawny and short scared of him. "You're such a meanie! Try that again and I'll bite you!" Lily huffed before marching into their shared class. Dallas sighed before walking in behind her.

Lily was giving him the silent treatment and he felt maybe it was for the best. The summer before middle school everything changed. He confessed to Asher that he liked Lily and not like a best friend. Asher confessed the same and the two were beyond conflicted. They weren't angry at one another. Asher even suggested that they both tell her their feelings and go from there, but Dallas was scared. He wasn't scared of much, but losing Lily Beth Morris was a real fear.

He knew his actions didn't make sense. He was pushing away the one person he wanted so close to him, but Dallas didn't know how to be like Asher. He didn't know how to be caring and sweet and affectionate, because he never had that type of example. Seeing her in the skirt angered him because it was doing something to his body and he knew the same thing would happen to other boys' bodies and that was not okay.

He didn't want to ruin their friendship by confessing his feelings and Lily recoil and reject him. He was used to being rejected, but he knew he wouldn't be able to deal with it coming from his Princess. She deserved someone like Asher. Someone that came from stability and love and a sure foundation. Asher confused him too, because when he thought of him the same feelings he had for Lily were there. He never told anyone that, but it was on his heart.

"I'm sorry." Dallas said as Lily sat next to him on the bus ride home. She glared at him, but gave in and smiled. "You forgive me?" Dallas said resting his head on hers. "Always and forever." She replied before taking his hand and resting it on her bare thigh. The moment stirred something in him. Dallas knew what an erection was. He was getting them quite frequently thanks to the wet dreams he was having about both of his best friends, but he didn't need to have one now. He couldn't.

Asher called Lily's name causing her to turn, which allowed Dallas to place his backpack over his growing member. She turned back to him and smiled. "You okay?" He nodded not sure of his voice. He had to get his feelings under control, but thanks to the talk with Mr. Reynolds he knew puberty was going to ruin him. Dallas wasn't sure what would come next, but he knew telling Lily or Asher about his feelings wasn't going to work.
