By the time sophomore year came along news of their engagement was no longer news. The year was filled with love and excitement as the three decided that Dallas would be the one to marry Lily and she would change her last name to Lewis-Reynolds.
Lily tried so hard not to pester them, but she would see an ad or watch Say Yes to the Dress and bombard them with ideas. They told her they didn't mind as they agreed to get married New Year's Eve of their freshman year of college, but she still felt like a pest.
New Year's Eve became a monumental holiday for them. They went to the clocktower and talked about their future. Asher filled them in on an internship he applied for over thanksgiving break that he hoped to get. "You'll get it babe. I just know it." Lily smiled as she sat between his legs.
"I don't know. It's a lot of hard work and I'll be gone practically all summer." He knew Dallas didn't like that, but this would be good for his overall career and look stellar to the admissions board at Texas University.
"You've got this. Isn't that right, Dallas?" Lily leveled him with a glare. She knew his pout was deterring Asher from feeling positive about it and she wouldn't stand for that. "She's right, babe. You'll get it." Dallas said with a small smile before playing with the zipper on his leather jacket. "We'll be juniors in no time." Lily spoke up causing them to nod. "We'll be older. Wiser." Dallas quirked an eyebrow at her. "What are you getting at, Princess?" Lily let out a breath.
"ITHINKWESHOULDHAVESEX." Dallas looked at her wide eyed while Asher's brain short circuited. "Come again?" Asher spoke up. "I think that after homecoming next year we should all have sex." The guys were floored. "Why? Have we been inadvertently pressuring you?" Asher asked worriedly. She shook her head no. "You've both been angels and I love you for that. I just...I'm almost ready. I know I need a little more time hence the proposed date, but I want to. I want you both."
The guys' eyes were popping out of their heads. "That's another reason for the wait. I'm...training." Asher wanted to faint. Dallas was immediately turned on. "I call your ass." Dallas spoke up causing Asher to slap him upside the head as Lily giggled.
"What? You've seen that thing! It calls to me." Dallas said dreamily causing Asher and Lily to laugh at him. "Homecoming next year." Asher said to her looking deep in her eyes for any sign of uncertainty. "Homecoming next year." Lily smiled before kissing him deeply.
It was summer break before any of them knew it and Asher was on his way to Austin, Texas for his internship. Lily was a sobbing mess and it broke his heart to leave her, but he promised to call every night to talk to them both. Dallas was shit with his emotions and tried to put up a wall, but Asher wouldn't let him.
He kissed him deeply and told him he loved him and Lily more than anything in the world. Dallas promised to take care of their fiancé and for Asher to just focus on being the best real estate prodigy in Texas.
The first few weeks of June, Asher did his best to keep in contact with his fiancés as much as possible, but even he underestimated the work and lessons being taught and learned. Each intern was given a mentor and his just so happened to be college senior named Dixon Ross. He was handsome in a boyish sort of way and he gave Asher attention he never had from someone other than Lily and Dallas.
He felt wrong for liking the attention and focused more so on the teachings Dixon could offer him. For the longest things were platonic and friendly until a small mixer where punch was spiked. Asher stopped Dixon the moment he attempted to kiss him and got the hell out of there. The guilt that riddled him was too much. He couldn't help but think of things he might have done to make Dixon even think for a millisecond that Asher would kiss him back.
