As I walked down the littered streets I wondered. Wondered what life would be like if I was still back in the orphanage, my favorite plush in hand, crying out for people to take me. All of them looked at me in disgust.
I didn't think of it then, all I wanted to do was go home, find my parents, and get out of that hellhole. But I knew there was no way I could. I spent most of my day bound to my bedframe as the workers and other kids hit me with sticks and stones. Cooing at me with their hateful eyes. I grew used to the fact that I would not get out of there and went numb to the constant pain. The only thing to look forward to in my day was when I got to see Michael.
How he proved himself to be worse than the devil.
Michael! I forgot that I was heading to Uncle Tubbo's house. Micheal had called saying that Tubbo had a suspicious man over and wanted me to spy on them with him. I had agreed of course. Who wouldn't? I had to lie to Tommy though, hopefully, he won't be too mad. I was supposed to be in school right now but this is more important. He would agree if I told him. Now that I think about it... Why hadn't I told him? Michael told me not to tell him. He would have let me go, but if he finds out now I'm going to be in trouble for lying. So I guess I won't be telling him.
"Get your ugly ass off the road!" screamed some guy.
I hadn't realized that I was standing in the middle of the crosswalk. The light had turned green and people were speeding around me, most of them shouting profanity. I waited for a break in the traffic and ran across the intersection. The sidewalk was crowded; as always. People were off to work and kids were off to school. People bumping into one another, people on the phone, people selling things nobody will ever use, all of them, people of Brooklyn. I didn't like how crowded it was here, but it was better than before.
"Keep walking buddy!" shouted a guy as he shoved me to the ground.
I quickly got to my feet to avoid being trampled, I looked through the crowd in front of me to see if I could find the guy but his head was lost among all the others. Good thing I grabbed his wallet, wont be hard tracking his location now. I weaved through the crowd until I found an opening into an alleyway. I looked at my reflection in the dirty water, that guy had messed up my outfit. Dirty shoe prints had decorated the back of the black crop jacked and its white undershirt. Dad had bought me this outfit.
I continued down the alley and cut into the foot traffic on the other side. I followed the wave of people until I got to Kinoko avenue. I cut in front of some people, all of which had very colorful mouths, and headed down Snow Chester street. I opened the front gate with Michael's key and climbed up to his window. Being part spider came in handy sometimes.
"Shhhhhh..." said Michael as he helped me in through his window.
"Are they still here?" I asked looking around his dimly lit room. His bed still had the same gray sheets on it, his curtains are a dull pink, and his rug was a bright green. Nothing in here ever matched, but I guess that's how he likes it.
"Yea," he said as he grabbed me with his hooves. He pulled me to the door and we both peeked through. To think two 16-year-olds would spend their time spying on a random man at 7:30 in the morning.
"Here they come," I whispered.
The man and Tubbo walked into the living room. I have never seen someone who looked like that before. He was half white and half black all the way around including his hair. He had horns and a long leopard-like tail. He wore the same work uniform as Tubbo. Never knew why Tubbo's work insisted that they dress like their about to go to a party. Now that I think about it I don't even know what Tubbo's job is.
"This is the living room!" said Tubbo as he swept his arms around, showing off his ink-stained couches and lopsided tables. The man nodded and adjusted his tie.
