Tubbo snored softly as I heard Dad slam the front door. He knew nothing about being respectful and his mouth has got him into more trouble than I can count. The only thing keeping him out of jail was Puffys strictness.

She set bedtimes and made sure we always had food on the table. Hybrid killers were known to roam the streets at night and prey on the weak.

But Dad being Dad snuck out one night. He got drunk, messed with the wrong kind of people, and joined the SBI. A well-known mafia group that sells drugs worldwide. They kill anyone that showed disloyalty or got in their way.

But according to him, everyone in the mafia was family. They swore loyalty to everyone including the leader and if one was in trouble they all came to help.

It is split into 3 districts with several sub-districts in each district.

All of these groups are led by a supreme leader. I have no idea who it is. No one knows, President Dream has been trying to catch them for years but the people here in Brooklyn won't risk their lives for a few pity dollars from the government.

His approval ratings are sky-high. Despite him slowly killing off the hybrid population. He has hybrids in his immediate circle. No one seemed to notice that. Regular people thought he was super hot and they all had crushes on him, pretty privilege I guess.

The clock on Dad's wall no longer ticked. Webs clogged the gears, it's been stuck on 5:45 for over a year. I don't think that this will be important to know later on.

I squeezed out of his room through a small crack in the door and into the living room. Pictures of us sat on the dusty mantle and the wood in the fireplace sat charred almost as if waiting for us to set its life ablaze. Fire would kill my spiders though.

They liked the fireplace, the chimney allowed them access to the outside and the warmth of the house also drew in bugs for them to eat. I pretended not to hear as Micheal approached me.

The sound of his hooves hitting the tile of the kitchen echoed through the house. His breath was rigid as he took small steps in my direction. Maybe he was scared of me, do I really look that scary? We've known each other for so long yet he approaches me like it was me that held a secret wedding. Like it was me that lied to my best friend.

Dad always said, "Lying is for the dimwitted, for those who are afraid of the bird's beak, for those who enjoy the thunder over the lightning."

"I said I'm sorry," he whined.

I kept my back to him as I kneeled down. The hearth was at my eye level as ran my hand through the ash. His voice was annoying and so was his personality. I let out a small hiss as I disturbed a nest. Hundreds of babies came crawling out of the ash as I hissed again. They were hungry no doubt, I had planted a female wolf spider here hoping she would mate with the male I already had. Looks like it was a success.

It was breeding season anyway so there should be thousands of spiders lying in wait for my command. All hungry and thirsty. I could feel his breath on my neck as the spiders crawled up my arm. He let out a shaky sigh as he took a step back.

"Are we done here," he sighed. "I'm tired."

"I bet you are," I whispered. I stood up suddenly and grabbed onto his shoulder to stop myself from falling. The world spun as I dug my nails into his shoulder. I need to stop doing that.

"Shroud that hurts," He cried out.

I pulled him into a hug as my vision faded back to normal. He was wearing a loosely knitted sweater along with a pair of leggings. The room was pitch black for him no doubt and there was no way he would feel the spiders crawling on him unless they touched his skin. I tightened my hold around him as I stared over his shoulder. I could see the guest bedroom door from here. Tubbo tended to be a deep sleeper so I didn't have to worry about waking him up... Ranboo on the other hand, was an unknown.

Micheal shifted in my grasp and his bright pink hair blinded me. His spade-shaped ears now blocked most of my vision so we stayed like this for no more than a few seconds. That would be enough time for something good to happen. I needed a new test subject anyway.

"I forgive you," I whispered, letting go of him.

"Really?!" he replied.

I could hear the surprise in his voice as I walked towards the window. The road below had been abandoned. Most of the lamposts outside had stopped working and the ones that were left flickered on and off.

"You can go back to sleep," I said.

I ignored the sound of his clacking hooves as I pressed my face up against the glass. The sky was made up of dull gray and blue. This was enjoyable weather. Dark and humid.

As I headed back to my room I grabbed one of the pictures off of the mantle. The one with just me and Dad.  The two of us sat together in front of a Super Market as I held the camera over our heads.

That was when life was good. Now, life was shit.
