Chapter 3

"Adam Adam wake up Daniel and Daniela are already back home from work and dinner is ready." Mom says loudly enough for me to hear.

"Okay give me a minute and I'll be down." I quickly pull over a t-shirt and rush down the stairs.

"Long time no see Adam." Daniel laughs.

"I'm not the one who's always busy with work ha?"

"Ahahaha Okay anyway Adam and Daniel." Daniela stops our convo.

"The engagement is within two weeks." She smiles widely and her eyes gloss.

"Oh my god, congratulations honey." Mom runs to Daniela with wide arms to hug her. I can see some tears coming tho.

Daniel and I both look to each other at the same time lacking words.

"Okay how cute is this mom and Daniela now let's go eat, I'm hungry." Daniel says.

"Stop being dorky hey ? Congrats sister. Now let's go eat I'm also hungry." I say as we all laugh.

"The lasagna is coming everyone so move out of the way." Dad shouts as he runs to the dining room holding the hot plate.

"Come here Daniela." He hugs Daniela tightly. As he adds "I've been waiting the day to see my baby girl a bride."

"Drama everywhere." Daniel interrupts their adorable moment and I laugh.

"Okay people lets eat." I say.

We chat over couple of stuff while having dinner and Daniela keeps on telling us about Scott's and her engagement arrangements, and all I do is nothing but think about ash and what she's doing right now.

"How's Ashley Adam ?" My dad interrupts my thoughts.

"She's fine but she's just occupied by her studies. You know she's a senior so she can't come by a lot as before."

"Yes of course I understand but I mean how are you together ?" He clarifies his question.

"We're fine as usual."

"Good to hear."

"How about your girlfriend Daniel ? How's Isabel ?" He directs his attention to Daniel now.

"She's fine but you know her brother is Adam's best friend so he jerks in our relationship sometimes but it's okay." He laughs.

"No one told you to love my best friend's sister by the way."

"Shut the fuck up Adam when it comes to Isabel."

"Okay okay bro calm down lover boy." I tease him. While deep inside I know I'm a lover boy too. We finish our dinner by talking about other few topics and I head upstairs to text Ash.

She doesn't reply immediately so I suppose that she's studying or so. Let me prepare my papers and stuff for tomorrow then.
•phone rings•
"Hello? It's Adam who is it?"

"Adam it's Julie."

"Oh hey Julie. What's up?"

"I'm sorry for calling but some of my friends and I are going to hang out tonight at one of our houses so I wanted to ask if you would like to join us ?"

"Uhm, yeah okay sure."

"Okay then, I guess we'll go to my place so I'll send you the address now. See you Adam."

"See you. Bye Julie."

Let me call Ashley before going. God... Why does she take so long to answer ?

"Hello Ashley ? Why aren't you answering? I was worried."

"Hi there. It's Harry and I'm sorry but Ashley is at the restroom and she'll be back in a couple of minutes so do you want me to tell her anything?"

"I'm Ashley's boyfriend so I guess you shouldn't pick up her phone like that. Why is she even with you?"

"Calm down bro she's my friend and she came to hang out a bit. Chill."

"Give her the phone now."

"I told you she's busy right now call again later. Bye Ashley's boyfriend."

Wtf ?! What's going on ? Is he messing with me ?

"Hello mrs. Carol. Sorry for calling this time but do you mind giving the address of Ashley's friend Harry ?"

"Is everything alright Adam ?"

"Yes of course she just needs a ride and I forgot the address and her phone went out of battery that's why I called."

"Oh okay I'll send you the address right now."

"Thank you Carol. Good night."

I find both the addresses Harry's and Julie's. I skip Julie's text and check Carol's text. I drive as fast as I can to this jerk's place. Who does he think he is to mess with my girl or me? As I pull in to his driveway I park my car in the nearest possible spot and I don't even bother switching it off. I rush into his hideous place and I knock until he opens the door.

"Who are you?" He asks as I ask him.

"Where's Ashley ?"

"I'll repeat. Who are you?"

I don't even answer his stupid question. I just walk past him to upstairs. He tries to stop me but he can't.

"Ashley ?" I say as I open his bedroom's door to find my girlfriend sitting on the floor with notes all around her. What?!

"Adam ? What's wrong ? Why are you even here?"

"I told you she's just hanging out with me sometime you need to chill crazy boyfriend."

I still don't answer this stupid kid.

"Ashley grab your stuff and come with me."

"But Adam what's wrong ?"

"Ashley do it."

"Okay calm down."

I wait as she packs her stuff and follow me to the car. As soon as she sits down I ask.

"Why we're you at this creep's house for so long?"

"Adam I was just getting some notes. You need to stop getting worried. I'm not a kid that you watch over."

"I didn't say that but this guy got on my nerves and you're not meeting him again okay?"

"Okay Adam whatever you say I'm sorry. I love you." She places her cold hands over mine.

"You know that you're my everything so I'm not letting any stupid kid mess up with you."

"I know babe."

"Where are you going Adam ?"

"My new friends are hanging out tonight and I don't want to go there alone so you're coming with me."

"But I'm not well dressed."

"Better so no one will try to flirt with you."

"Ahahaha Adam you're insane."

"Maybe."
