The alarm went off at 6:25. She got up, took a shower, comb her hair, and got ready for school. When she got downstairs, her supposed to be father was in the kitchen talking to her mother and was making breakfast. Rebecca just stared at the both of them and shook her head.
“Rebecca, look honey, I decided to take our da-”
“Why did you walk out on us father?”
The room was silent for two minutes. Rebecca looked back and forth at the both of them. Her father stop cooking and looked at her with his head down.
“Yeah, that's what I thought. You aren’t man enough to tell the truth huh? Yeah the truth hurts, but you walk out on us hurts even more dude!”
“Look, I’m so sorry Rebecca I promise I’ll make it up to yo-”
“And you, why would you take him back? You make stupid decision I swear you do ma you getting on my nerves! I hate the both of y’all!”
Rebecca stormed out the house and walked to school.
At lunch, ShaNeika and Mark was nowhere to be found, so she sat by herself eating her food. As she was eating she looked up and saw Mark and ShaNeika walking in together. Irritated, Rebecca charged at them.
“What’s wrong with you Becca dang!” Mark yelled, causing everybody to look.
“You know what! It’s a lot of things wrong with me like you. I’m so tired of you walking out on me, telling these lame excuses, and not being there for me Mark! I’m done with you, it’s over be with ShaNeika my so called best friend cause Lowkey y’all got something going!”
“Becca no we don’t, that’s on my life! I was late cause
Coach had to talk to me. I don't want Shaneika I want you, please Becca, don't do this to me I love you.”
Everybody started saying aww and don't break up with him. Rebecca was in tears cause half of her believed him and the other half did not.
“Mark, I love you too, and I would never leave you.”
She ran into his arms and they hugged for a long time and let go. The intercom came on and the principal said,” When the bell rings everybody go home. It’s snowing, and sleeting outside and we don’t want y’all to get trapped in it. The School will remain tomorrow and I also need to see ShaNeika Turner and Mark Johnson, Thanks.”
“Rebecca I’ll come over your house when I leave school I promise, Love you”
“Love you too.”
When she got home, she heard noise coming from her parents room. She thought that her dad was beating on her mama. Little wrinkles of worry on her face, Rebecca bust in the room and saw her dad having sex with a woman. The woman wasn't even her mother.
“What is this?”
“Rebecca let me explain see what happened wa-”
“Look, I don't want to hear it Jason! I’m telling my mama what you did, you deadbeat nigga!”
“You’re married? What in the world. I'm gone and don't call my house phone again Jason!” said the woman.
Jason got up, went to the bathroom and shut the door. Rebecca went to her room, texted her mama.
Mama
Rebecca: Mama you won't believe what just happened!
Mama: What Rebecca?
Rebecca: Okay, so school was let out early because of the weather so when I got home I heard noises coming from your room. I thought dad was beating on you so I bust up in the room and when I did I saw him having sex with another woman.
Mama: Are you for real or you lying?
Rebecca: Ma why would I lie you know how Jason is but no you had to take him back, Karma is trouble right? Yeah.
Mama: Bye child always telling tales.
Rebecca couldn't believe her mother text words. She closed her phone, laid in the bed, and drifted to sleep.
