When her mother come pick her up, she told her mother what happened and why it happened.
“ShaNeika was laughing at you too?”
“I don’t know mama she had a smirk on her face.”
“Then, she’s not a real friend.”
“Quit saying that mama she is too.”
“Well, I'm heading out of town tonight I have to go to a work convention.”
“Yeah, okay ma.”
The rest of the way home was silent. When they pulled up into the driveway there was a red corvette in the yard. The car looked familiar to Rebecca, but she couldn’t figure out who it was.
“Mama who car is that?”
“That’s your dads car!!!!”
Them words hit Rebecca in the back of the head. She hasn't seen her father since she was 12 years old. The day he walked out on them was the day that Rebecca wasn't going to ever forgive him. She was young, but she understood everything that happened. When they got into the house there he was, her dad, sitting on the couch watching tv. He looks different way better now than he use to.
“Jason!!!”
“Tiara, how you been?”
“Oh my gosh, I bee-”
“Who are you?” Rebecca said with an attitude.
“I’m your father.”
Rebecca looked at her mama and then back at her dad. She was so confused, even though she was 12 when her father left, she still couldn’t recognize him. She thinks that’s not her father.
“No you’re not! You are not a father of mines. Don't call yourself a father because a father would never walk out on their family, a father would provide for the family and care for the family, a father would love his wife and child. If you're a “father” you're a deadbeat one for sure!!”
“Rebecca!!!!!! You watch your mouth young lady you understand?”
“Are you kidding me mom! This man that says he’s my father abandoned us and all you got to say is watch your mouth, mama please if you get back with him ill pray for you.”
With that, Rebecca went upstairs to her room, and left her mother and father in shock. She took out a book and began to read when she heard a knock at her room door.
“Honey, let's talk, please.”
“I’m not your honey, I don’t even know you nor do I ever want to.”
“I’m your father just please open the door, we need to talk.”
“NO YOUR NOT! LEAVE ME ALONE!”
Rebecca puts on her headphones and listened to music all night until she fell asleep.
