(the things i explain here may depend on the style of the anime and the way the artist draws it, it depends on the artist and how the express it)
🌱 How does the shape differ?
First of all, the realistic eye tries to copy absolutely (or at least most) of what the eye itself looks like
The anime eye (depending on the anime style too) doesent include all the factors or the complete shape
This is how a realistic eye base looks like:
As you can see it includes the WHOOOOOLEEEE shape of the eye
The pupil is normally the same size , what varies from person to person is the shape of the eye
and the eyebags bellow lol
This is how an anime eye base looks like:
As you can see the pupil mostly covers the whole eye when it is in a neutral mood
In anime eyes change a lot because the eye is what gives the anime the expression or mood that it's in
By only looking at the character you can see the emotion or personality in a nutshell
So the eye in anime changes it's eye shape a lot depending on the mood the character is in
the pupil also changes, from neutral to small depending if it's scared or normal
🌱 How do the pupils differ you may ask?
The pupils differ in how much shading it has and how the center divides from the rest of the pupil
First of all, the realistic eye has MANY more details than anime eye (again depends on the style), while the anime eye focuses more on the expression it's trying to instill in the viewer or reader
Realistic eye pupil:
Pupil of anime eye:
Less detailed and is more divided in the terms of colors
The realistic eye also contains less eyelashes and the anime eye mostly barely contains eyelashes, and if it does the amount is very little
Hope this helped and next part is coming tomorrow :D
