Travis snapped out of his daydreaming as he felt a soft hit on the back of his head, whipping his head around to send a glare over to the blue haired boy obviously grinning under his mask. The blonde looked down and saw the crumpled up ball of paper which he just assumed was what hit him in the head, and he reached down and took it in his hand. He slowly unfolded it, a soft shade of pink illuminating his cheeks.
'luv u <3'
The full year they had been together was going faster than what either of them were expecting. Graduation was already coming up and they both had seperate plans, and that scared them. The hesitant hugging and distant conversations were just becoming normal routine in their relationship, and both of them knew it was slowly going downhill.
''Yes, Mr. Fisher?'' A soft voice spoke, Travis' attention turning back to his boyfriend.
''Can I go to the bathroom? My stomach hurts from lunch.'' The boy asked, his hand obviously holding his stomach as he was dismissed and stood up. He sauntered his way out of the class, his body slouched and just his body language made it obvious that he was exhausted. Travis just gave a huff and looked back down at the math assignment on his desk. He visibly grimaced, the sheet full of scribbled out answers and pointless doodles he made when he was supposed to be listening. The boy continously looked back at where Sal usually sat, minutes went by till the class was almost halfway done, and Travis was becoming worried. Sal was pretty quiet the whole morning, and the small holes in his mask showed the heavy bags under his eyes.
As the teacher was busy rambling about the lesson Travis had no idea of, he quietly slipped out of his seat and quickly snuck out of the class. He let out a heavy sigh of relief as he made it down the empty halls, partially happy that he got out of math and partially happy that he could find Sal without being bothered. He hesitantly stepped into the bathroom, his head peeking around at the only closed stall door. He let out another heavy sigh as he walked over, leaning his back against the gross and dirty beige door.
''Sal? Don't tell me you're crying in there.'' He asked quietly, the uncomfortable feeling of nostalgia make him shift his body. With no response, Travis reached for the handle and to his surprise, the door was completely unlocked. He carefully looked around the door and saw his boyfriend curled up in the corner, his mask squished against his knees as he hugged them tightly. Travis frowned as he went into the stall and shut the door, crouching down in front of his partner. He wasn't good at comforting, especially if he had no clue what was going on, so he couldn't really find any of the right words to say. He hesitantly sat against the wall beside the blue haired boy, his legs crossed and hands fidgeting. He cleared his throat awkwardly, his eyes looking around the stall as if he'd magically find something to help him. His body flinched as he felt a soft weight on his arm, his eyes looking down at Sal's head leaning against his shoulder. He let out a sigh and slowly lifted his arm and laid it across his back as Sal nuzzled his face into Travis' underarm.
''Do you still love me?'' Sal's voice broke through the empty silence of the stale washroom. Travis felt his stomach cramp at the question; he was thinking the same thing. They must've been worrying about the same thing but never communicated it to each other. Travis frowned to himself as his fingers fiddled with the straps of Sal's mask, the clicking of his nail on the plastic was the only sound left in the room before he spoke.
''Can I see you?'' He asked, his eyes looking down at his boyfriend's slumped over figure. The first time he ever saw his face was their sixth month anniversary of being together, and it wasn't even what he was expecting. Sal just randomly took it off when they were laying together after the had finished the pizza they ordered, and Travis just stared. The dent in his face and caved in eye was so cool, and the sight of the side of his teeth from the lost tissue of his one cheek was even better. At first Sal thought Travis was horrified, but the way he just leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his scarred forehead made his heart flutter. He said nothing, he simply wrapped him in his arms and they just laid there together.
