. . . .

Annie came back after a couple of minutes with a pile of books. The History of Aurus. One, Two Three, Magic and Me! Affinities and Abilities. The Prince and His Maid's Secret Rendezvous. Hmm, dunno about this one. Annie quickly swipes that book, with a blush on her face. I chuckled.

"Is it good?" I asked. Annie blushes harder, but she nods. Hmm.

"My lady, you shouldn't be reading this type of stuff! It's not appropriate!" She places more books on the table next to me. The titles seem to range from the basic history of the world to magic and abilities. With more simple elementary-level books to more advanced books like The Analysis of Connections with Elements and the Interactions of Multiple Elemental Affinities. I sigh. Reading was never my strong suit, nor was I an avid reader. But it would be nice to know more about this world and magic. That reminds me. I look up from the book I picked up.

"Annie." She looks up from arranging the books.

"Yes, my lady?"

"What elemental affinity do I have?"

"Oh, I forgot!" She smacks her head. "My lady, you have multiple elemental affinities, three in fact!

"Three?! I have three?!" Woah, I have multiple affinities! This body is talented!

Annie nods.

"Yes, my lady. You are a Tri-elemental wielder or Tri wielder for short. It is common for nobles to have multiple elemental affinities. Most people only have one affinity. Having multiple affinities is a sign of strength."
Cool! I smile, excited to try my new powers out.

"How do I use magic, Annie?" She ponders a bit. I look at her expectantly.

"Um, hmm. How do I explain this? Um. It's kind of like a feeling?" Her face is puzzled, deep in thought. I nod. Okay, a feeling? And?

"Uh, well, the feeling is inside you. And you use that to feel the element?" Her face is scrunched up in frustration. She exasperatedly raises her hands.

"My lady, I don't know how to explain this to you. Maybe I should go get a teacher or someone to help better explain this to you." She hangs her head down sad.

"I apologize for my incompetence. I will look for a person that can be of help to you!" Fired up, Annie collects herself.

"My lady, you must excuse me while I go fetch someone who could be of help. Don't hesitate to call if you need anything!" Without even finishing her sentence, Annie is already out the door. I guess I'm on my own for the time being. Hmm. I look back down to the book I picked. The History of Aurus. It is a history book about this world I'm assuming. I open it to see a picture of a majestic looking elder with a caption of "Your Highness, His Majesty King Zeronis Maxilliam Fredios Regiskuria the Fourth" in a fancy font. Long name.

I turn the page. The next page talks about how this person is the current ruler of the Aurus Empire, one of four major human-ruled empires in Aolne, the name of this world. It goes on to elaborate that the Aurus Empire is divided into five major sections, the main central kingdom of Regiskuria, and four dukedoms, Moarishe, Gerialum, Jyoum, and Huyieop. Inside the dukedoms are areas ruled by barons and cities ruled by counts. There are barons and counts inside each dukedom that governs specific regions and major cities. I'm guessing those areas of the Barons' and Counts' are independent of the dukedom but they reside inside the dukedom sharing resources. The central kingdom of Regiskuria is a standalone area with no other cities or areas governed by any other powers. There are cities in the kingdom and they are ruled by the royal family. I guess this allows the royal family to hold more power since the barons and counts weaken the dukes' power.

The next pages detail the royal family itself. Currently, there are only seven members of the royal family, the king, queen, and their five children. The book doesn't go in-depth with details regarding the current royal family, rather it talks more about the history of Aurus. Aurus was created after the additions of newly discovered elements as a place to hold the diversity of these new elements and the species that specialize in them. Like a melting pot of different element holders and living species.

The other human governed kingdoms specialize in either a singular element or a select group of elements that complement each other. The book talks about how the dukedoms represent the diversity of elements with each dukedom specializing in a particular element or two.

I flip through a couple more pages to get through the book to see if there was anything else that might be useful to know. Many different species of living beings besides humans can be found residing in Regiskuria. Hmm. What kind of species? It doesn't elaborate. I guess I can ask Annie later when she comes back. I sigh as I close the book. Man, learning about an entirely new world is exhausting. There's too much information I'm lacking. How do people do this? Why can't I just remember everything so I don't have to read all of this? I glance over at the pile of books on my bedside table. I sigh again. Maybe I should ask Annie if there's a spell that can help me absorb all of this information.
