Movie Night on the River Shore

Later that morning after getting a bit of sleep, the pogues decided to use the day to relax but made plans to catch tonight's showing  of Uncharted at the OBX Summer Movie Series.

When it came time to go the gang gathered some chairs, packed a cooler, and took the Twinkie to their destination.

Sarah smiled from her spot at shotgun and turned the radio up upon hearing Lana Del Rays "Summertime Sadness." The boys groaned but were quickly silenced with a flick of the two girls wrists.

As the sun set and they cruised along the roads of the outer banks, they sung along, hair whipping around with the wind.

" I'm feelin' electric tonight, cruisin' down the coast, goin' about 99, got my bad baby by my heavenly side,
I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight..."

Both the blonde and black haired boy in the back sat silently, not daring to interrupt the girls singing, especially Kie, considering she wasn't really the type to sing along, although she had a mesmerizingly beautiful voice.

They watched as she continued to the next verse, her pink lips mouthing the sweet melody, sun highlighting her skin and curly hair.

" We're here guys." John B. proclaimed just as the song was finishing up, pulling the two boys from their staring. Looking back at the three as she exited the van, Sarah cringed lightly, realizing they were all about to be caught in an awkward triangle of sorts.

At that moment she thanked the stars her and John B. had worked out so well. She wouldn't want to deal with the mess those three were headed for.

The pogues made their way through the crowd before finding an empty spot to set up their stuff. Once they had, Kie offered to go grab some drinks from the concession stand.

Before she could leave, she was approached by a boy she certainly didn't want to see.

Rafe Cameron, Sarah's douchebag older brother.

" Hey Kiara, how's it going." He said in a fake gentle voice. She did her best to remain calm, forcing a tight lipped smile before replying.

" Just fine Rafe." She responded curtly before taking her drinks from the man working concessions and thanking him.

" Come on, Kie. You know it's been a while, I'm just wondering how you've been." He asked again, not satisfied with the girls first response. As her anger rose, she glared up at him.

" I already gave you an answer." She repeated, tone making it clear she wouldn't entertain his company for much longer.

"But you don't mean that, do you princess." He pressed further, using a nickname that nearly made her gag in disgust. Just as she was about to tell him off, an arm slid in between her and Rafe.

JJ had made his way over after noticing Kie had been gone for longer than expected, and was pissed when he saw Rafe talking to her.

Hand gripping the counters edge, chest squaring up with Rafes, the two looked at each other silently for a moment as Kie stood behind JJ, relieved.

" Hey buddy, how've you been." JJ began, faking a civil conversation as Rafe played along.

" Good good, you?" He asked with a forced smile and an annoyed look in his eyes.

" Just dandy, if you'll excuse me, I'm just gonna grab these..." he began, turning his shoulders and taking the drinks from Kies arms.

" And we'll be on our way. Say hi to Barry for me alright?" JJ made a subtle stab at the dirty blonde and walked off, making sure Kie was in front of him.

" Thank you." Kie spoke quietly over her shoulder, JJ leaning down a bit to hear her. While she would normally give him a ' I can handle myself speech' she decided against it this evening, thankful for not having to waste anymore energy on that douchebag and appreciating JJ for stepping in.

He smiled to himself before responding in the same hushed tone as to not disrupt the crowd.

" Don't mention it."

As they sat back down Kie hid a smile to herself, reigning her attention back in to Tom Holland on the screen.

Slowly throughout the evening, the two subconsciously shifted closer, until JJ masked any nerves by seemingly throwing a casual arm over Kie's shoulder, smirking when she didn't object and make a move to slap his hand away.

The other three pogues caught a glimpse of this as well, Sarah unable to help herself from grinning a little, John B. trying not to laugh at his girlfriends cute reaction, before returning his gaze to JJ and Kie, forming a smirk similar to the one JJ had displayed (clearly proud of his homeboy), and Pope, who didn't share the positive reactions of his friends, but rather a slight frown, and a dash of jealousy forming in his head.
