Saturday Nights

"Kegar?" John B suggested

"I'm down" Pope replies.

"Let's do it" Kiara and JJ simultaneously agree.

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon on "Paradise On Earth". The winds were calm for once, the sun was beginning to set behind the great Atlantic. Everything seemed as it should be.

It didn't take long for teens to file in. From Kooks to Tourists and Pogues The Boneyard was always a hot destination for nightlife and crazy parties in The Outer Banks.

Fires burned, Marshmallows were toasted, beers were drained, minor fights broke out, but nothing serious.

The Pogues were spread apart doing their usual things, Kiara chatting with a chill group of people who seemed interested in her ramblings about saving sea life, keeping the oceans plastic free, and numerous astrology references.

Pope was sitting by the fire, talking to a guy about the ever so unusual topic that surrounded dead bodies and morgues, though for once he wasn't scared off within the first five minutes.

John B and Sarah were strolling along the shore, being couple goals and talking about life or random topics, sneaking kisses under the moonlight, and occasionally pulling out their Val and Vlad impressions.

And last but not least, JJ was relentlessly flirting with some naive tourist on vacation. She had no idea she'd be yet another one of his one night stands, never even receiving a call back. JJ always knew this was wrong, if he had even thought about it, but he always pushed these thoughts away, he was reckless and thrived in the present, having never seriously considered his or anyone else's futures.

As Kie stared off past the fire at the naive tourist and JJ, she couldn't help but frown. She felt sorry for her even though she'd never meet her. She knew the games JJ played, a cruel game of the heart, she herself had almost fallen for his charms once upon a time, but quickly realized she had made a mistake.

Kie was positive the girl would never be seen with JJ again. She too, would realize she had made a mistake, only after it's to late. One night stands were an accurate representation of JJ's lack of commitment, and consideration. Kie was sure he had never even heard of a " long term relationship". He had absolutely no understanding of what it was like to be in a happy, healthy, long relationship. Though Kie knew this was partly because of his abusive father, and nonexistent mother figure growing up.

She knew that deep down, JJ was a wonderful person. Genuine, kind, caring, and even potentially loving, though she never thought she'd see the day where JJ found the right person to bring out that good side of him, and in that way she was sorry he hadn't found her, but truly hoped he would.
