This is a story for you all to experience. A story that takes place in the far future.
You've been traveling for a long time. It's been more than a year. You've been trying your best to not give up. But you already felt like it. You felt like there was no hope in finding your long lost origins.
After a while more of walking, your small backpack started you weigh you down. There wasn't much in it anymore though. The sky was turning dark and you didn't have enough supplies to make another temporary base.
You look ahead of you and saw some light. Your hopes rise. You used the little bit more of strength in your body to follow the light. There wasn't supposed to be people there, but it didn't matter to you.
But what you saw was a huge surprise.
A town.
Well, not exactly. The town looked abandoned, with a broken path that had multiple holes in it. You didn't lose hope though. Even abandoned, it could still have supplies and shelter. You could stay there for a while. Atleast until the sun rises back up.
When you near the place, it was obvious to you that no one was there. You sigh sadly. It's been a very lonely journey. You did befriend many animals. But you didn't decide to make them your pet. You wanted them to have their own adventure. Besides, you didn't have enough supplies to care for another being.
There were many buildings for you to choose from. Most were in pretty bad shape, but still looked usable. You settle your things down in a small, restaurant like building. It was pretty small but cosy.
You put your things in a small chest in the corner. There was actually a bed in the room as well. You lay down and stared at the broken ceiling. You were tired, but sleep wasn't there. The urge to explore this abandoned place kept bugging you.
With a defeated sigh, you get up and go outside. Even with the darkest of nights, this place was literally glowing. Like, you could feel a certain... connection to it. But at the same time, it felt like a complete stranger.
You walked on the broken path cautiously. It seemed to almost break down, but it was still standing strong. You admired the town. Even with the broken buildings taken over by nature, it was still something to admire.
You squinted your eyes to see something incredible. A castle! You picked up the pace and started to sprint towards it. Your jaw dropped when you saw the beautiful castle. There were some broken redstone and pistons in front of it. You didn't think too much about it and went inside the castle.
There were many hallways leading to different rooms. You were able to find a big map on the wall. It was a bit torn, but it was still usable. You examined it to find something. You tried to memorize it to not take it from here. It seemed like stealing.
Eventually, you were able to find the throne room. But what interested you, is that in front of the throne was a chest. It looked old, ancient even. You crouched down to open it. You hesitated, but opened the chest.
A small music disc and a note is all you found.
"Dear reader,
My time has come. I never knew Dream would do it. But I guess he had the rights to. My castle won't protect me forever. I can still hear the explotions and screams of my once former friends. If you are reading this, please play the music disc. It's an old recording of something very memorable. It'll be my only and final wish, to let the story be told. I don't know if it'll survive, but I can only hope for now.
Farewell,
A friend, a citizen,
a traitor, a ruler"The letter worried you a little. You suspected that they knew whatever happened to this town. You looked back at the disc. It looked broken. You weren't sure if it'll even work, but you still tried to play it in an old juke box in the corner. You sat near the the juke box and listened closely.
It started off very scratched. It hurt your ears a little. You sighed and started get back up. You froze when you heard something from the disc. Your eyes widened and you stared at the juke box in surprise.
...
You felt tears dripping from your eyes. Why were you crying? There's no need to cry, right? What is this? What is this song? Who are those people singing it? Why does it sound familiar, yet so unfamiliar at the same time?
You stayed there for a while, slightly hugging the juke box. You couldn't believe what you just found. That your journey had come to an end.
Silent sobs filled the quiet castle. The once lively place, filled with laughter and fun, was now nothing but ruins. The two 'heroes' of that land died tragically. But they took the land with them. The ones who survived left immediately, to try and start a new life.
People started to forget about the place and it turned into nothing but an old tale. New civilizations started to form, but none ever knew about that land.
Until you came around. You grew up learning all about that once peaceful place, because you were related to the people there, the ones who caused wars and ruined the peace. You learned everything about them for that very reason.
But you were missing something:
Experience.
You wanted to be there. You wanted to explore and know more about your past. You wanted proof of those people. There were never any pictures or journals, or anything to prove that that land once existed.
Even if you didn't realise at first, you were home.
