Accalia's eyes widened. "Katoteros? You mean it? I can really go there?"
"Of course. It's my realm now, technically, so the only permission you need is mine."
"Oh gods, Ash, I'd love to. Whenwere you planning to leave?"
"As soon as possible. Now, if you'dlike."
"Just let me say goodbye to myparents, and pack real quick, and I'll be ready." She started forthe living room.
"Packing isn't necessary," he saidsoftly, causing her to pause on the other side of the doorway andgive him a look. All he did in response was arch an eyebrow andsmirk. A light blush covered her cheeks and she continued to theliving room. He waited for her as she said her good-byes and goodnights. He smirked when he heard Sabra mention something about beingprepared, and he could almost feel how hard Accalia was rolling hereyes at the statement. She returned to him shortly.
"You're sure I don't need anovernight bag?"
He wrapped an arm around her waist andpulled her close against him so their bodies touched. "Absolutely.Close your eyes."
She followed his suggestion, and felther being tugged quickly, but the sensation stopped almost rightaway, and her stomach rolled over a couple times trying to catch up.She felt Acheron step away from her and her eyes fluttered open. Sheinhaled sharply, seeing before her the throne room of Atlanteanheaven. The building was made of black marble, with pearl and silverveining. The room was round, with a crescent-shaped raised area toone side, where various marble seats rested. There were two seats inthe middle of this area larger than the others, which served as thethrone for the king and queen of Katoteros. One was slightly moreelaborate than the other, and shivers ran up Accalia's spinepicturing Acheron lounging there. There were pillars that spreadaround the entire room, and in between most were red silk fabriccurtains.
In front of the curved row of seatswas a lower area that Acheron had furnished as a living room ofsorts. There was an L-shaped red leather couch in front of a largetelevision sitting in an entertainment cabinet. There were severalvideo game systems hooked up, as well as a VHS, DVD, and Blu Rayplayer. He had a series of bookshelves nearby that housed a plethoraof books, games, and movies in various formats. Underneath thefurniture she could tell was Acheron's emblem, the image of a sunintersected thrice by lightning bolts, in gold, silver, and pearlwhite.
There were open curtains to one sideof the room that led to a balcony, and across from the king's seatwas a gigantic set of double doors that sat open and inviting herfurther into the depths of Katoteros.
Accalia turned in place, taking in allthe sights of the throne room, and when she came to face Acheron, hewas wearing his black godly robes along with his leather pants, andhis hair was again blonde. He smiled softly to her.
"What do you think?"
"Gorgeous," she murmured, herbreath taken away by his beauty.
"I meant Katoteros," he saidflatly.
She melted into a bashful smile, herface reddening. "I did, too. This place is amazing. No wonder youfeel so at peace here."
He stepped towards her and slipped hishands into hers. The pads of his thumbs brushed over her knuckles."You give me peace, Kae."
She met his gaze while goosebumpscovered her arms in response to his touch. She didn't know what tosay to him. He may as well have declared his love for her. He didn'tgive her a chance to say anything by dipping his head to kiss her.She leaned into his kiss, placing one of her hands against his cheek, and the other snaked under his robes to touch his bare chest. Withhis hands free, he placed them at her lower back and pulled her closeagainst his body.
