"my plans were interrupted by...?" (5)

The girls were hugging each other on the ground, enjoying all the fun... but.. while at the Dawn Winery..

Diluc was getting ready to put the glasses and wine bottles away when he looked out of the window in curiosity. The sun was going down and it was getting dark. Diluc didn't want to close up the Dawn Winery yet though...  He knew that Eula would come by for a drink, but she hasn't been coming to the winery for a long time now. Diluc worried something happened to her or she just didn't have interest in drinking anymore, which he didn't believe. Even though Eula believed she was an excellent noblewoman, she would drink a lot. 

Eula would down glass by glass, all until she would get so drunk she would stay at the winery until the morning. Diluc didn't understand the meaning of why Eula would stop drinking all of a sudden. As Diluc washed the last of the glasses, he heard the door open to the winery. 

"Diluc, may I have a word with you?" Jean walked in saying.

"Yes, Jean? What do you want to talk to me about?" Diluc said sitting down on a small table. 

"About Eula.. where do you think she is?" Jean started.

"I don't know about Eula. She hasn't been coming by for a drink for a long time. When was the last time you saw her, Jean?" 

"I mean, the last time I've seen Eula was when she was injured really badly. But that was like a week ago. After all, I feel like she's been hanging around Dragonspine again."

"Albedo didn't report back about anybody hanging around Dragonspine, hm?" Diluc said while putting his hand to his chin, in a way of thinking. 

"We should drop the subject, she'll come back for commissions. By the way, I'm going to be holding a ball for tomorrow night." Jean started getting up to leave.

"Alright. Thanks." Diluc said while also getting up to close the winery. 

Diluc closed the winery and started walking outside for some quick fresh air. On the way to the grassy plains, he saw Eula and Amber laying down on each other by the tree. Eula was looking all flushed while Amber was sleeping calmly. Diluc was horrified. All this time Eula was hanging out with Amber, and not using her time to pass by the Dawn Winery to sit down for a drink?

Eula started to get up, and carried Amber on the way back to Monstadt. A few hours later, Eula was informed about the ball and wanted to get ready. Amber was still sleeping, so Eula just left her alone at her place and left for the Dawn Winery. The winery was still open, considering the fact that Diluc wasn't there. She stepped into the winery, then heard a familiar voice.

"Back from a long journey.. with a certain outrider, huh?" Diluc said from behind.

Eula laughed it off and replied, "And your still the same as before, serving the same customers over and over again." 

"Shut up, why are you here now?" 

"Just asking you about the ball tomorrow night at 12."

"Haha, I thought you weren't informed of that already. You gonna choose a dance partner?"

"I might've decided but just asking, what about you?"

Diluc shifted his weight a bit, then asked, "I was just about to ask you about being my dance partner... but now I feel like you wouldn't need one."

Eula smiled a bit, then said, "Old friend, be my dance partner for once. I have a feeling you suck ass at dancing." Smirking at the same time

Diluc was surprised. He never thought that Eula would accept his offering as a dance partner. He closed his eyes, smiled, then went out the door, holding one hand up.

The ball won't be so lonely after all..
