The next day, 2 hours before the ball, Eula was talking to Amber at her place.
"..Eula.. are you going to dance with me or.."
"..Yeah.. I'll be your dance partner.." Eula said lying.
Amber believed that sentence like she was devouring her favorite sticky honey roast. Eula on the other hand, was feeling guilty, lying to Amber just like that. Amber looked so happy and cheerful now, but that was about to change.
"Eula, is something wrong?"
"Uh..uh..nothing! I'm just wondering about if you can still follow my moves!"
"Of course I can! I can follow your moves perfectly!!" Amber said with a grin.
Eula loved seeing Amber grinning and smiling, but she couldn't imagine what would happen after Amber saw her and Diluc dancing at the ball together. Eula loved her. She admit it, but not to Amber.. just yet. She thought she wouldn't have a chance to tell Amber her true feelings for her. After all, she just claimed that it was an accidental first kiss. Amber and Diluc knew that Eula was a brilliant dancer, she danced near the lake every day without missing a day for almost 2 years now.
2 hours later, at the night ball || 12:01 AM || Monstadt || Amber POV:
Amber was standing around at the ball, waiting for Eula to meet her. Everybody had a dance partner but Amber right now. Oh c'mon Eula, where are you?
Until something horrifying caught Amber's eye.
Diluc and Eula, gracefully following each other's moves, were happily dancing together at the center of the ball. It struck to Amber that.. Eula.. who softened up and laid down with her, the Eula that said she would dance with her... the Eula.. that lied about a dance partner..
Why? Why? WHY? WHY? WHY?? BITCH! I THOUGHT... I THOUGHT SHE LOVED ME.. I THOUGHT SHE WOULD DANCE WITH ME... I THOUGHT SHE WOULD SPEND MORE TIME WITH ME.. I THOUGHT WE WOULD BE TOGETHER UNTIL THE END.. WHY?
It took a second for Eula to see the poor outrider looking at her and Diluc dancing. Eula expected it, but never knew it would be this bad. Almost everybody had left already, probably because it was late and they needed to go back home. Diluc stopped and said, "Eula? You gonna go?"
"Uh.. not quite yet.. I mean.. yes.. I'm gonna go."
"Alright. Nice dancing with you tonight." And Diluc went away into the dark night outside.
Eula walked over to Amber, who was starting to shed tears. She tried to grab Amber's hand, but Amber slaps it away. Eula realizes that she was looking up at her. But not in the way she expected. Amber was glaring at her, in a hateful way, that scared Eula at the same time. Amber wanted to make Eula hers. To claim her. To not let anybody, nobody, nothing, love Eula the way Amber loved her.
Amber pulled hard on Eula's clothing, dragging her up Dragonspine with one hand.
