Chapter 6 (Gansey's POV)
I felt like I was in a dream. It started out as a nightmare, flashing lights, crowded rooms, hundreds of people surrounding me while I scream for help. but then, like an angel, my saving grace came to save me. Blue, I didn't think i could ever fall in love so fast, even though she scares me and I still hate her. It was like Cassia was erased from my mind the minute I saw her in her ripped up dress and spiky, colorful pins filled hair. I ran through the hall of the palace twirling around, humming a cheerful tune thinking about my love, my lady, my twin flame. Blue.
"Gansey" I stopped abruptly. That high nasally sounded familiar. I turned
"Cassia?" My stomach dropped, this couldn't be happening. In this moment I realized I still liked Cassia even though she CHEATED on me. Is it possible to be in love with two people at once? "What are you doing here?"
"I got drafted, duh" she gestured to her uniform, and the door she was standing in front of. ""I still love you ya know"she said. This knocked me out of my daze, the anger rose inside me as I remembered how much she hurt me.
"Leave me alone!" I screamed at her and ran back to my room. I flung myself on my bed and pulled out the tuft of pollen cassia had given me. I cradled it in my palms, and sobbed. I walked over to my balcony, arm outstretched, ready to release the pollen into the air, to never think about Cassia ever again. But I just couldn't bring myself to let go.
