It was several days later, when Cordgi stopped me on my way to the wry. He had been in a weird mix of moods. Some times he avoided everyone but would come up and just wrap his arms around mine, laying his head on my shoulder. Other times he was fine. I shrugged. I guess he had to work through his past. I just took it one moment at a time.
Today, he caught my hand. I looked over at him, he had a half shy smile on his lips. "Zyn, are you doing anything tonight?" He asked. I thought about it.
"No, not anything I can't change. I was thinking about joining Tanwen on a flight." I shrugged. "I can do that anytime, why?" I asked. He looked out over the open air. We were walking along one of the corridors that were outside of the school, just enjoying the warmer day.
"I was thinking, we should do that date tonight." He told the sky. I smiled. Pulling my hand free of his, I wrapped my arm around his waist. As I pulled him into my side I whispered into his ear.
"Then I am definitely free." I told him smirking as his cheeks colored.
"OK, then meet me on the roof, say eight?" He asked. I nodded.
"Alright." I was only mildly surprised when he didn't move away. We ended up walking to the Wry with him clutching his cloak around him, and my arm around his waist.
"No!" A voice screamed out. We both jumped as I was looking at Cordgi. Attroxia ripped my arm from around the other boys waist. Instantly there was a shield of bodies between him and I. We hadn't gotten past the edge of the school buildings.
"Hey, that's not nice!" Cordgi yelled at the twins.
"Tell me, Zyn of the Wry, have you even kissed anyone but this fool?" Baram asked.
"Uh, no." I said a little confused.
"You do know half of the female body that make up this school want to be the one to show you how?" He continued.
"Yeah, and the other half are dragons." Attroxia rolled his eyes.
"There are more than a few males who wouldn't mind snuggly up to him either." Tempest pointed out. Cordgi was just standing there looking lost.
"Why do I care about this?" I asked them.
"To give you perspective. You don't have to limit your options to him!" Bran cried. "Hell, many of the knights here would be willing to kiss you." He stated. I chuckled.
"Yeah, but would I want to kiss any of them? Male or female?" I asked. My eyes went to Cordgi, he had a small smile on his face. Suddenly there was a face in mine. I staggered back a step, but a strong hand pressed into my back.
Flame red hair tickled my nose as fists fitted themselves into my shirt. Green eyes flashed for a second before she was yanking me down towards her. I was sure it was her dragon who held me from behind. I could fight both of them, but I didn't have the time to even think about that. She smashed her lips into mine. It was awkward. I felt her lips on my teeth. Without really thinking I sent a cry for help out to my Nuare.
Angry little hands shoved the girl away. Snow began to fall around us as the temperature dropped quickly.
"Leave him alone!" ice daggers shot out of nowhere pinning the girl to the hill behind her. I snagged Tanwen's arm bringing her to my side.
"Don't hurt her!" I gasped. "I just wanted you to make her stop." I said. The air warmed.
"Well, she stopped." Tanwen looked up at me innocently. I laughed.
"Thank you." I said pressing my head against hers. Cooing lightly, she curled into me.
"What the hell?" the girl ragged looking at us. "Where did all of you come from?" she screeched. Only then did I see nearly fifty dragons in human form making a half circle around us. I sighed.
