Tommy walked through the door and shut it behind him. He was greeted by bright fluorescent lights and long hallways that go left and right. Clem buzzed against his skin anxiously, and he can't help but to shiver with her. The com shrieked once more, the loud, shrill sound caused him to flinch.
"Go left." Was all he was able to make out in the static and garbled noises. Shaking off the unsettled feeling, he took the instruction and went left. The hallway seemed to trail on and on for forever. The lights flickered less the farther into the building he got. He could hear very faint footsteps echo throughout the hall and he deemed it unsafe to continue as he was. He reached down to his left thigh and pulls a card from his deck.
There was this feeling, not unlike how Clem felt, that laid against his skin. Opening his eyes (when had he closed them?), he looks at his hand and finds he was unable to see anything. Humming back at Clementine, he runs to the nearest stairwell, hoping he's remembering the area correctly.
He ultimately decided Ranboo was not going to be able to help, seeing as all the com could currently communicate was this high-pitched shrieks that hurt his ears and caused Clem pain. Tommy turned down the device and fumbles with the door handle of the stairwell door.
It was locked, but nothing a bit of lock picking couldn't fix. The door swung open with little fanfare, the creak it emitted caused him to cringe. The stairwell was significantly darker than the hallways and seemed to go up to the clouds. He knew that to not be true, he climbed the stairs while keeping in mind the importance of stealth on this particular mission.
He was looking for floor 6, the floor that the goal was being held at. There were two cameras in each room with only a very small blind spot he planned to exploit to it's fullest. He was only at the third floor when he finally got something other than the ear-piercing nonsense from his com. What he heard did concern him a little bit.
"Tom-"..."-bad ide-"..."-out."..."-OUT."
The com completely cut out after that. He really needs to get Tubbo to fix that. He decided that, perhaps, the stairwell was what he needed to exit. That's fine. He could find another way up to the 6th floor, it's not like he was limited.
Exiting out of the stairwell, he ended up on the 4th floor. The transition from low light to bright fluorescent lighting was jarring and caused him to take a moment or two before continuing on his journey. He took out the busted com and gave it to Clem to store, Tubbo would be pissed at him if he threw it out.
The floor he arrived on had all sorts of twisting and turning hallways. A plan slowly began to form in his mind and he decided his next best way up would be outside. Putting his current card away, he draws another and comes up with the picture of a thermal camera picture of the human body. Thermal sight? Pog.
The card disappeared from his hand, indicating it's activation. Clementine buzzed anxiously against him skin and he hummed along to soothe her. Best get this job done soon, Tommy doesn't like the vibes this place has.
Looking left and then right, he decided to just go straight. The hall had a door at the end of it and he hoped it had some sort of window. He stalked down the hall and stayed on alert for possible threats. This place is awfully quiet for the type of job this was.
Shouldn't there be more security around? This job was getting more and more suspicious as he goes on. He was also certain that he hadn't damaged the com at any point between his current and last job, so why was it busted? Putting those thoughts on the back burner, he walked up to the door and activated his current ability.
He didn't see behind the door though he did see some security three doors away, so he tested the handle. It was, of course, locked so he pulled out his lock picking tools and got to work. It took him a little longer than the other for whatever reason, the pins kept resetting just as he was almost done. To his delight, the key hole had finally began to rotate and he unlocked the door and opened it. Getting up off of his knees, he cautiously slipped into the room.
