If we met again...

Chapter 5: Revenge!

I had to tell mum so I did. At first she didn't believe me but then she remembered that he was asking her bank details and wierd stuff like that then she checked his phone. I could tell she was upset and she broke about a hundred stuff after that we left. Thank god we took Mums car.

*Monday morning in form*
I walked in by myself since Jay and Ruby weren't at our usual spot when I walk in I see them holding hands looking at each other smiling. UM WHAAT?
I stand in front of them, arms folded.
Jay snaps out of it
"Ari I-"
"Save it Jay. Seriously? You guys are my best friends why didn't you tell me?"
Ruby put her hand on her shoulder
"He only asked me out yesterday...we didn't say because you were at Ambleside. How was it anyway?"
"HORRIBLE!" I yell the class looks at me so I glare back.
Ruby and Jay exchange glances
"So Mason's gone?"
"For now.."

When I walk into English my heart is pounding. I feel as though it's gonna burst out of my chest and on to the wall. Jay and Ruby smile at me. If it was supposed to be reassuring, it didn't work. I wish I was back at the park with Harry. Everything was so relaxed then I didn't have a care in the world.
"Sorry about Friday." Mr Sperling says "My son decided to not go to school which I suggest you all do NOT do."
Wierd...what if his son was Harry? He did say he had 3 kids. Wait he can't have because Harry's my age. Unless...I hope I wasn't right about the whole affair thing.
The lesson dragged on and I didn't pay attention at all. At break I got a text from Mum:
WORKING LATE TONIGHT GO TO EVA'S XXX

Just then I remember, I CAN ASK AUNTIE EVA!! Her and mum were the tightest cousins ever she'll definitely know about my Dad.

And she did.
"Ari you have to promise you won't tell your mum." She says
"I promise!"
"Okay well...they broke up to protect you. A man called Jayden was madly in love with your Mum and he'd stop at nothing to get her. To protect you the two of them had to stay away from each other. After his Dad died, Your dads family couldn't handle the stress which is why they moved to Wales. And that's the last I heard of them- we heard of them."
So he didn't cheat. They still loved each other when they broke up...they still could love eachother.
"I have one more question." I say
"Go on..."
"What was his name?"
Aunt Eva smiles "Revenge."
I wrinkle my nose "Revenge?"
"Yeah but that family had wierd names. Revenge and Scarlett! The perfect couple." Auntie Eva says with a chuckle.
"What was his last name?"
"Sperling."
"Oh."
