With a towel wrapped around my body I started cleaning up the living room, getting rid of any evidence of alcohol or Randy before my parents return home tomorrow. It seemed like while Gale was here, they didn't want to be. They're still mad she picked up the Cotton case and attacked Sidney. I had just finished when the widow a few feet from me smashed open. I shrieked from the surprise but when I turned to look for a cause only one thing remained. A brick with a note.

"What happened!?" Randy ran down the stairs, careful not to pass any windows in his vulnerable state.

"I'm fine. Just the stalker, doing his regular breaking with no entry this time." I picked up the brick and grabbed the note. "Guess who, Cookie." I read aloud. My heart dropped.

"Do you know someone who calls you Cookie?" Randy asked.

"It can't be him." I choked.

"Your guy? Did he see...? Did he watch you...?"

"He did. He called after and he was pissed." I tried to make this make the most sense to Randy the best I could. I don't actually know if it's Stu. It could be someone who heard him call me Cookie. But he whispered it to me so unless it's someone who hid in my room that night then it'd have to be him.

"I should go." Randy said looking around.

"Yeah, I'm sorry. Your clothes are in the dryer. Let me go get them." I walked away tired and pained.

"Hey..." He pulled me in for a hug. "You don't have to be sorry. It's not your fault you live in a horror movie, but you should probably tell the police." Randy held me close to him and I allowed a few tears stream down my face.

"If it was Sidney, would you be able to call the cops?" I asked.

"She wouldn't do this-"

"But if she did." I pressed.

"I don't know what I'd do if she did all of this to me." He answered.

"Exactly."

I didn't bother with school the next day. I found glass for the window and then I spent my day perplexed in my bed. The police did come by to try to get me to go to school. Something about being there is safer they said. They also said that the same phone used to call me was also used to call Casey before she died and Sidney before she was attacked but they had ruled out Billy as a suspect. "No, it has to be Billy. It lines up too well." I argued but to no avail. Doesn't help when I was called last night, Billy was at the station. That only leaves Stu as a suspect, but Stu was with me when I was called the first time. Randy was with me last night, so it wasn't him. I tried every other angle. It couldn't be Stuart.

"Hey, Megan. School let out early. I wanted to let you know Stu is having a party tonight. You should come and cheer up Randy." Tatum said on the other line. "He kind of let it slip that you two were together last night while Sidney was attacked."

"Yeah. I don't know if I can-"

"Don't say no. It's almost Halloween, probably the only party we'll get until the killer is caught." Tatum said.

"Yeah, but the killer has called me three times already, Tatum. I don't think it's a good idea." I argued.

"So, you'd rather be alone and murdered than with other students that the killer wouldn't dare kill you in the middle of. And you'll have Randy and his murder rules to protect you." Tatum said.

"Fine, pick me up?"

"Sure, I'll be right over."

"Safety in numbers, Meggy!" I heard Sidney yell; she was probably on the other side of the room.

"Whatever, get ready fast. I'll be over there soon." Tatum ordered.

I quickly put on a white long sleeve crop top with a peach-colored mini skirt with black knee boots. Then I brushed out my hair and let the natural wave take over. By the time I was done getting ready there was a knock on the door.

"Almost there!" I yelled hopping down the stair zipping up my boot, I picked up my keys an opened the door. "What are you doing here?" My face fell. So did his after my response.

"Tatum asked me to get you. Her and Sidney needed more time to get ready." he answered.

"Why didn't you just say no? Aren't we supposed to be distancing ourselves from each other?" I asked stepping out and locking the door.

"Aren't you the one coming to my party at my house?" He countered.

"I didn't have much of a choice when your girlfriend actually likes me." I bit back.

"So, you aren't going for me?" He asked.

"You haven't heard? Randy and I are kind of seeing each other now." I rubbed in his face

"Yeah, I heard about that." He was pissed as I passed him. "That's why you're wearing my favorite outfit, right? For him?" I looked down and clicked my tongue. He was right. This was his favorite.

"I'll go change." I murmured unlocking the door again. "You know your way to the couch." i walked upstairs and Stu still followed.

"Stu, the point of a breakup-" I turned around giving him the perfect angle to kiss me. My hands were trained to find his hair and pull it in just the right place that made him go nuts. He tapped my thighs and I jumped.

No, no, no, he's the caller, remember. And you two aren't supposed to be together. And his best friend is a dick. And he's a dick for keeping me a secret. And there's probably more than that but I can't think properly while he kneaded my ass like that.

"I missed you." He said when he pulled away.

"What about Billy?" I asked. holding his face in my hands, worried.

"Fuck Billy, he doesn't understand." I smiled slightly but my fear only grew more.

"And Tatum?" I regretted asking.

"I'll break it off tonight." He announced. I grinned at him and let out the breath I was holding in.

"Then you can wait until tonight to kiss me." I whispered against his lips and then jumped down.

"Tease."

"I like that a lot more than what you were calling me last night." I said nonchalantly.

"Yeah, well you were fucking another man last night." He shot back. "Wait..." He panicked.

"Fuck Stu. Why'd you have to say that?" I breathed in a sharp breath. "So, is this party your final stand or something?" I turned.

"You bitch! You tricked me!" He pointed at me.

"I only wanted the truth Stu, and this was the only way I was going to get it." I leaned against the doorframe. "Believe me, I wish I was wrong."

"I'm a fucking idiot." He murmured to himself. "Billy's gonna kill me, Megan. He was right about you."

"No, Stu." I smirked. "He underestimated me."

Checkmate, I couldn't lose.
