"So, what kinds of shops do you like Azzy?" Maya asks me.
"I'm not really sure, I haven't been to a real life shop in so long." I answer her quietly.
"That's okay, I'm sure we'll soon see what you like. And with Ali there then he will make sure to pick you out some nice clothes." She tells me. I just nod my head to that.
We sit in silence for the next 10 minutes, but it's not uncomfortable at all, when the twins burst through the living room entrance again.
"We're here and ready, let's go please!" Alejandro almost shouts. I feel myself flinch a little at the sudden loudness. I take a couple of deep breaths before standing up.
"Let's go then. Adrian, don't let Ali drive the car please. I'm just going to tell you dad that we're leaving now." Then she walks away.
I panic a little. She left me with two boys. Did she even realise what she did? They may be my 'brothers' but that doesn't actually mean anything to me. That title will forever be tainted. I take a few deep breaths and try to focus back on reality so I don't seem like a weirdo.
I look up to see Alejandro gone but Adrian standing a couple of feet in front of me. His eyes soften as he watches me.
"Are you okay, Az?" He questions, sounding almost concerned. Why? I don't know. I just nod my head in response, "We can head to the car now, you can even pick one if you like."
We start walking, well he walks in front of me as I follow his footsteps. We reach a door that pushes open. It's a huge garage, like absolutely massive. Alejandro is already in here, waiting by a dark red car. I spot a really pretty navy blue car a couple spots away from where he's standing. I think Adrian notices me eyeing it because I watch as the lights flash, indicating that it has been unlocked.
"Ali, we're not going in the one. Move your ass, come on," Adrian says. Ali whines a little but still hangs the keys to the red car back up and goes to sit in the blue one, "We can wait here for Mum to come back if you'd like, you don't have to get in just yet."
"Thank you." I tell him, so quietly I'm not sure if he even heard me. He must've though because there's a little smile on his face now that wasn't there before. He nods his head and leans against the wall as we wait for Maya to come back.
I take it upon myself to try and get to know him a little better, just like I promised myself. So I ask a question, unsure where my little confidence has come from.
"Do you, do you play any sports?" I question quietly. He looks a little shocked that I chose to speak to him but quickly shakes himself out of it.
"I do. I play football and basketball. I like to fight sometimes as well." He answers.
"That's really cool. I fight too, well boxing but it's still kind of the same." I laugh awkwardly and nervously.
"Maybe one day we can spar?" Adrian offers. I nod my head hesitantly, smiling shyly in his direction.
I hear the door open and snap my head in that direction to see Maya walking towards us. She tells us Emiliano knows where we are going and then asks us to get in the car. I follow and see that Maya sat in the front seat to drive. I repeat to myself that it's okay, it's just sitting in the backseat with my brother. It's okay, breathe.
I sit in the seat and buckle myself up.
"Everyone ready?" Maya asks. Adrian and Alejandro reply with a yes and I just nod my head.
