y/n stared out the train window, her mind filled with unnecessary things. haru sat in an empty seat playing on y/n's phone as she stood and enjoyed the scenery from the window.

y/n held her school bag as she stood, a miniscule of a smile was present.

"l/n-san, where are we going?" fushiguro stood across from her as they waited for their stop.

"oh! we're going to visit our father. me and haru have been missing him for a while... and he's been working non stop lately."

right.
he didn't know what y/n's father worked as. the only thing he knew was that he was often away from home, and that she basically raised haru and herself.

he felt as though it was intrudent towards y/n if he asked her what her father did.

he also hardly knew her mother, too. he saw her in picture frames and photos that were around the house. but he didn't know where she was, or why he wasn't introduced to her yet.

"our father works as a doctor. the hours are hectic and he's hardly home, so we're used to it by now. that's where we're heading, to be more specific." she smiled at megumi before tilting her head to the side. she wore a confused look. "...is there something wrong megumi-chan?"

a faint blush started to cover his face as she used his name and the honorific. but he shook his head and pulled his uniform shirt up to cover his face.

this earned a laugh from y/n as she watched him.

"are you curious about my family?" she covered her mouth with her hand as she laughed at megumi.

he shook his head in embarrassment. but she saw right though it.

of course she did.

"well, megumi-chan, my mother passed away. it's only me, haru, and our father."

he watched as she gently and lovingly patted haru's head. a loving smile was present as she did so.

"when did she pass away?" megumi asked, he was now interested in what she had to say.

"she, uhm, passed away after giving birth to haru. which wasn't the best way either, haru is a premature, which is why I don't often let him out when it rains, or when it snows. or when he gets sick I don't go to school for a week and take care him until he's healthy again...." she trailed off before speaking again. "I only grew up with our mother until the age of five, which is also when haru was born. our father then quit his job for two years to spend with haru, then expenses started and he hired a nanny and started working again." she smiled fondly and then stare out at the trees they passed by.
