Part 9

Red's POV

I cover my mouth and try to hide my smile and laugh. Lani just fell off the dock into the water. Her head comes out of the water and she looks around and groans. "Whyyyyyyy, I hate water." She says as she climbs back onto the dock. I chuckle and wave my hands towards her. I lift all the water off her and back into the ocean. She looks at me with wide eyes and a huge smile.

"Thank you! Now, let's get away from the evil water." Lani says with a hiss as she walks back towards land. I follow after her while suppressing a smile. "It's getting late, Tomorrow I want to see your powers. So let's get you back home and in bed." Lani says as she walks towards David's house. I groan and shake my head. "What?... Did you see him in full force?" She asks me.

I groan again and nod my head. "Yeah, have fun with that." She says as she laughs at me. I glare at her and drop water onto her head. She stops and turns to look at me. "You little shit." Now I would have thought she was mad and was going to hurt me, But her tail is wagging and her ears are up. Plus she has a smile on her face that she's typing to hide. I chuckle and after a second I start running to David's house.

I run inside and I see Boat sitting on the couch. I dive behind him. After a second Lani runs into the house looking for me. "Where is she?" Lani asks Boat. "Red, Where is she?" Lani asks again. "What did she do?" Lucas asks. "Look at me!! She dumped water on me! So I have to get revenge!!" Lani says loudly. I cover my mouth to hide my laugh.

"Sorry kid, This is your fight. Red is behind the couch." Boat says. I gasp and jump off the ground. Lani tries to run around to grab me so I run to the opposite side of the couch. We keep running around the couch for a good twenty minutes. Lani jumps over the couch and she pins me to the ground. I try to get out from under her but she starts tickling my sides.

I try to stop laughing but I can't help it. After what seems like hours she stops and gets off me. I look over at her and glare while sticking out my tongue. "Get some sleep, I want to spare tomorrow." Lani says as she gets up and says bye. I watch as she leaves the house, now it's just me and Boat. "I'm glad you made a friend." Lucas tells me with a smile. "...I also ate cake for the first time." I softly tell him.

"I forget you've never eaten that kind of stuff before." Lucas says as he looks down. I just shrug and yawn. "Go to bed, I'll see you in the morning." Lucas says. I nod and get off the floor. I slowly walk up the stairs and I float up to my room. As soon as I flop on my bed I quickly fall asleep.
